Combo-Con Pack 1 - Urban Paranormal

HOOK ME UP! EXCLUSIVE CONTEST

I went to World Fantasy Con and all I came home with were tons of books. Then I went to TusCon 37 and all I came home with were lots of posters. So I thought to myself, “Self, I think it’s time to do another giveaway. After all, the Swag Hounds expect.”

So, here it is, the Combo-Con Contest, in honor of the release of “Alien Tango” (‘cause, you know, I don’t have nearly enough going on RIGHT NOW).

Combo-Con Pack 1 -- Urban Paranormal
Loaded with posters from “Devil” to “Salt” to “Legion” and MANY more (25 posters in all!) and also containing a full set of “Twilight: Eclipse” posters, this pack is also loaded with 4 Urban Paranormal books, including “Afterlife” by Merrie Destefano, "Shadow Blade" by Seressia Glass, "The Secret History of Moscow" by Ekaterina Sedia, and "White Cat" by Holly Black. Also comes with a signed Gini Koch 2011 calendar to call your very own -- which, since it's a poster, will make 26 posters in all...such a deal, how can you resist?

In order to get those needed extra entry points, answer this question: If you could tag along with moi at any con, which one would you pick and why?

Love,
Gini

(Not on Hook Me Up! yet so you don't know what's going on? Hit Win Stuff and get signed up NOW!)

  1. Awesome, well if I could tag along with you to any con it would have to be the New York Comic Con, because there would be a lot of cool stuff there and would also get to be in New York.

Would love to read all those books and plaster my walls with the posters. :)

So let the commenting commence :)

  2. Comic Con. I have never been and it would be great to follow someone who knew the ropes. It would also be nice to be able to hang around when you met other authors.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Comic Con hands down where I would have made sure we had a personal meet and greet with Nathan Fillion bc I love him almost as much as u do.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Are there any Cons in like Aruba, or something? I need an island vacation with a lot of fruity drinks with umbrellas in them!

    ReplyDelete
  5. You don't want to take Marnie, she'll try to steal Nathan Fillion! You can see the evil plot in her eyes!

    ReplyDelete
  6. ComicCon wins! And I would go wearing nothing but various pieces of posters, placed strategically upon my body! Team Edward and Team Jacob could be equally represented as face cut-out pasties, one on each glorious breast! (No touching please! It's ART) You and I would stroll arm and arm, garnering you more love and support - because I am a good luck charm and can make you laugh! There, I am a shoo-in to win this pack!

Everyone else may leave the page cowering beneath my cleverness!

    ReplyDelete
  7. OH my! Ditch the pasties...who wants to stroll arm and arm with a chick without a top on? All the attention will go to those puppies! Depending on their condition you'll definitely get things thrown at you... dollars if their perky - old fruit and snarly blankets if they are in need of an upgrade. Who wants things thrown at them at a Con!

Take me to Comic Con and I promise no rotten tomatoes!

And why that particular Comic Con (the one in San Diego)? Well because some of most fabulous Urban Fantasy authors will be there (along with you of course)!

    ReplyDelete
  8. @Kelly, well you would make quite the impact dressed like that and well teenagers would probably be vehemently fighting over which one of your breasts is better.

So if you don't think that'd bother you, I forsee that you could make a ton of money selling Team Jacob and Team Edward Pasties:)

Also I cower under no one elses cleverness but my own :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. It would be money and adulation thrown at us! Who carries fruit and tomatoes to those things anyway...that's totally like 5 minutes ago! So WHATEVs!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I dunno, Gini, I wouldn't take Kelly if I were you. She might get arrested and you don't want to have to do the "say the first four words that come to mind if we wake up in a jail cell together" shtick.

Perhaps the Bahamas has a Con? Mai Tai's, Pina Coladas, and half naked men. Oh yeah, baby. (let the men be half naked not that Kelly girl.. :P)

  11. Everyone has said comic con so far, but I'd love to go with you to Dragon Con in Atlanta. I've always wanted to go and it has both Fantasy and Sci Fi stuff there. Then we could hit up the Coca Cola headquarters there and try to get some free swag from them.

    ReplyDelete
  12. One night in jail with me would be worth it. Gini would have fodder for YEARS of books after that! And the Bahamas don't have the potential a holding cell does for pure research! I firmly believe that Aliens come and go from those places....

    ReplyDelete
  13. @Kelly, I'm pretty sure that aliens would like the Bahamas over jail cells. Just look at their mode of travel in Touched by an Alien, inconspicuous for the most part.

  14. *craking knuckles*

Hello boys & girls! I'm baaaaaack!!!

    *insert evil laugh here*

Gini... if I had the spelendiferous opportunity to go with you to a con it would MOST CERTAINLY BE...*drum roll*

STAR TREK CON IN VEGAS BABY!!!!!!
    Can I get a What!What!??

Martini and Kitty would be there (yes - they're reall people to me) and we could all dress up in Armani suits. We could meet William Shatner and the gang and explain to him how Martini is the "new" Captain Kirk. We'll tell Lenord Nemoy that the "two finga pinch" is nothing compared to running at Hyperspeed!

Oh and to jump to the "other" Star Trek Series - Next Generation we could hunt down Data and WARF (silent RAWR) and talk about ... you know stuff.

THAT would CERTAINLY be more fun than Comic Con.

    ReplyDelete
  15. BUUUUUUUUT!!!

If Star Trek Con was not possible -- then Comic Con... because we could then hunt down Green Latern and check out his "light" *googly eyes*snicker.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Dren, well now that you mention it, Star Trek Con would be awesome.

Yeah, I think a lot of people would like to check out Green Lantern's "light" :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I just wet myself.
Okay. Con. Dragon Con? I could see James Durham, who is uber cool and digs zombies. But, really isn't the LA Comic Con the biggie?
@Lisa, take me to the Bahama Con!
@Dren ROFL mmm hmmm on the Green Lantern.
    @All, I am a closet Twi-hard. I NEED those posters.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Great pack! My parents live in Tucson, but I hadn't heard of the convention. I'll have to go next year and free load off them ;-).

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Becky -- Star Trek Con HELLS YES!!

Oooh Gini we could dress up as KLINGONS!!! I have the Klingon dictionary so you can study the words.

    What?

Doesn't eveyone have the Klingon dictionary?

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Kelly....o_0

Gini... I think you should step away from Kelly. "one night in jail?" Ummmm I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would say DragonCon. I think it would be so cool to see everything. :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. New York comic con all the way! I have neve been there but I would love to go, especially with someone who has been there before!

    ReplyDelete
  23. NAH Gini, Dragon Con in Atlanta - because we would rock that mother.

I would not go with the topless one - I mean pasties with Eddie and Jake? There might be a total TwiHard riot and there is no way I would want to be in the middle of that breasted fiasco.

Dren is all about the Aliens, but does she have Grasshopper? I mean that kid is mostly yours, and what better place to hand him over to you than at Dragon Con?

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Dren-I love ya, but Star Trek? Do we really want to see Wil Wheaton dressed up as Wesley? Well...on second thought, forget that trash talk, because yes, I think we do..

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love it! A Klingon dictionary. I knew a couple who got married in Klingon. Only in Vegas. Speaking of Vegas, I'll go to that one, too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh sweet. I got a chance to meet Merrie Destefano and interview her on my blog. Super sweet lday :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Buckey see -- you can NEVER go wrong at a Treki Con!

Do NOT even get me started on Deep Space 9 - Read my type ladies - AVERY BROOKS. COM SISKO

@ Gini - Bald. Goregous. Bald. In Charge. Sexy in Uniform. Did I say bald?

    *wipin drool off chin*

Yeah we need to hit THAT Con up... like whoa!

    ReplyDelete
  28. If I can tag along with you it would definitely be comic con! I went to comic con last year and loved it...one of the best experiences everrrr.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Methinks Dren wants a Spock in her pocket

    ReplyDelete
  30. SDCC all the way!! there isn't one geeky passion you cant fufill there
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Amber well hopefully she wants the new Spock and not the old Spock. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Becky, ROFL!! You never know. I only like Billy Zane bald myself.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Amber Spock in my pocket? Hells yes! My Pocket. My Purse. EVERYWHERE!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Amber -- oh Billy Zane AND Avery Brooks -- Bald Gods -- both of them!

But Gini would pick ME for the Combo-Con Pack 1 - Urban Paranormal because I'm cool like that! Bald head lovers stick togetha!!

Errybody else - to the BACK of the line.

    Thx!

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Dren yes Gini might pick you but will the random number generator be so kind? :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm having a mental picture of Dren with pointy Spock ears. LMAO I didn't know you had a thing for spandex uniforms!

Breaks out the Light Saber!!!! They are so much more elegant that silly little stun guns.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ParaJunkee
Well that's where you're wrong, light sabers don't have a kill setting. With phasers though you have a long range weapon that with the flick of the switch would get rid of the bad guy permanently.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Becky - I thought their kill setting was poke someone in the chest with it!!!

    Light Saber On.
    Poke Bad Guy in Chest.
    Bad Guy turns into dust.

    Yeah Win!

Now they don't have a stun setting. The new ones might...you never know how these things getting upgrading.

Light Saber 2.0 === the non-lethal force kind. The light saber is actually wrapped in a bio-degradable plastic that renders the victim impotent on contact. That would teach those bad guys.

Long range variety: Throw light saber at head.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @ParaJunkee, I like the way you think and it would be pretty awesome if the Light Saber 2.0 did exist. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. @ParaJunkee, I'm with you. Size matters and a tazer ain't gonna cut it. Lightsaber all the way.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Dren, ROFL. In the purse is probably best. And yes, it takes a rare bald dude that can be sexy. Who's the one from Transporter? Hot. Might be the accent, though.

    ReplyDelete
  42. <--- making light saber noise (badly I might add)

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Amber the guy from Transpoorter is Jason Statham.

    ReplyDelete
  44. still don't know if I would trust a lightsaber over a phaser.

What if you're a rather clumsy person? Dropping a phaser would be fine but if you dropped a lightsaber and tried to grab it I'd probably cut your hand off especially if it's one of the double-sided ones.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Becky, I suppose we'd better stick with those who know how to handle their weapons, eh?
    @Lily, Thanks! Hawt!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Looks like I might have to research available Cons. Till then I pick Dragon Con as it is not far from where I am in North Florida and it sounds pretty awesome.
And no pasties for my trip but light sabers would be fun. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Maybe we need to combine the phasers, and lightsabers into one super weapon. Kind of like a bayonet but a lot cooler.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would say Dragon Con just for kicks:)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bayonet lightsaber/phaser combo? Cheese and crackers, ya'll are dangerous. See Gini, that's why you go with me, they would be killing people at the Con with no where to hide the bodies and the hotel would charge you extra cleaning fees for all the body bits left laying about. Who needs that headache?

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Lily, Yeah, but they'd all be bad guys. And, man oh man, am I good at cleaning up. Can't cook but I can clean.
@Bama, I'm with you on Dragon con. I might see James Durham there.

  52. Okay if I could go to any Con it would be the one in NYC baby hands down... Why because duh Justice League and HELLS Kitchen.. Do I need to school ya'll or what? You definitely want to roll with me Gini you want to know why? Because I'm the bad girl that looks good, and I can get us in all the lectures that count.. BIG UPS!
