The November READ THIS! Book of the Month, the Yap is Back, and More!

Happy Turkey Month!

Well, Halloween is past (and I did enjoy all the sugar) but that means it's time for Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving for a variety of reasons, so this is a time I really look forward to.

I'm also looking forward to the READ THIS! Book of the Month this month, because it's mine, written with my co-writer Bebe Bayliss, and I can't wait for all y'all to read it (if you haven't already) and come ask us all the questions. As always, Hal Bodner will be the guest host, and you know he's a ton of hosting fun, so it promises to be a good one!

Plus we have a lot of recorded yapping to get caught up on, and more, so let's get to it, shall we? We shall!

Read Out Loud!

Speaking of Reading Out Loud...

A Book Club by Moi for All Y'all

Welcome to READ THIS! A Book Club by Gini Koch. This is my chance to introduce you to some great authors that I love and know you will, too.

Every month I'll spotlight a book and, even better...every month I'll host a live discussion with the author, that all y'all can join! I know, it's too happy to be true, but true it is!

November 2024 READ THIS! Selection

The READ THIS! Selection for November 2024 is:

Fall's Girl
by Gini Koch & Bebe Bayliss

Gini's Take: Stuntwoman Stacey Weir didn’t mean to become an amateur detective – but when the man who saved her as a teenager is accused of murder, there was only one thing for her to do…

About the Author: It's me! But just in case you've missed the "official" intro...Gini Koch writes the fast, fresh, and funny Alien/
Katherine “Kitty” Katt series for DAW Books, the Necropolis Enforcement Files, and the Martian Alliance Chronicles. As G.J. Koch she writes the Alexander Outland series and she’s made the most of multiple personality disorder by writing novels, novellas, novelettes, and short stories in all the genres out there and under a variety of other pen names as well, including Anita Ensal, Jemma Chase, A.E. Stanton, and J.C. Koch. She now enjoys expanding the fun co-writing with Bebe Bayliss. Their first mystery novel, FALL’S GIRL, released from Ginger Blue Publishing in 2024. www.ginikoch.com

Bebe Bayliss is a California-born Canadian author writing mystery & suspense, science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, weird west, and horror, with stories featured in anthologies from Zombies Need Brains, Flame Tree Publishing, Brigids Gate Press, and Air and Nothingness Press (as Sonya Carlin.) She and co-writer Gini Koch bonded over a shared love of snark and sci-fi conventions and they now write short stories, novellas, and novels together, including FALL’S GIRL, first in their Fall’s Girl Mystery series from Ginger Blue Publishing. Bebe lives in British Columbia with a very tall husband and a very small dog. http://www.bebebayliss.com

And Remember: One Lucky Q&A Participant can win it early!

The READ THIS! Selection for November 2024 is:

All I Want for Christmas is a Werewolf
By Liana Brooks

It's Preorder Time!

Something Wicked, the first novel in the Santa Paloma Mysteries series written by moi and Bebe Bayliss, will release on November 22, 2024 from Ginger Blue Publishing. Coming in ebook and paperback, preorders are live at Amazon, Kobo, and Apple Books. Per the publisher, B&N is (still) being persnickety, but the book will be there for preorders in the near term.

It's Alive!

Ginger Blue Publishing has re-released my humor collection, Random Musings from the Funny Girl, with new pieces (!). If you don't have this collection yet, now's the time to get it from AmazonB&N, and all the usual suspects. And if you have the original, but want those new pieces in their snazzy new format, well, I'm not gonna tell you no. ;-D

New Yapping!

That's right, more yapping from me and other awesome authors over at ConTinual. The latest offerings are Hot Off The Press 128, where we talk about our new books and I discussed this month's Book of the Month, Dracula, where we discuss our favorite Draculas and why, Favorite Superhero Movies and TV Shows, where we discuss...well, the obvious, Speed Racer, where we talk about the OG anime many of us grew up on, and Tim Curry, where we talk about that man among men and his many roles and talents. So head over and watch and have some fun along with the rest of us at ConTinual!

Don't miss these other cool panels I've run the yap on recently:
Westerns
Weird Westerns

And check out all the other cool ConTinual panels I've run the yap this year and over the past years -- you can find them over on The Yap In Charge! Plus there's a whole lot more over at the ConTinual YouTube page, so browse around and get your panel fixes in!
DRUMROLL, PLEASE...

For those who came in late...

I wrote "the end"!  I wrote "the end"! I wrote "the end"!

Yes, it's true, Aliens Like Us is FINALLY done and Kitty and I are super happy with it. Now it's with my crit partners and beta team, then once I make their fixes, if any (hey, a girl can dream), it goes to my agent. Then, from her, it goes to DAW.

At that point, DAW will go over edits and such with me and then I should have at least a guesstimate for the official release date.

As always, all y'all will be the first to know! (And yes, I'm getting the teaser pages for Alien Research ready as we speak, so to speak...)

So many bookie wookies, so much time to catch up on all of them while waiting for Aliens Like Us and the next READ THIS! selection. Check out my Bookstore for all the things!
That's it for today but, never fear, another Update, including the Discord Q&A chat invitation, will be arriving in a couple of weeks!

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, remember we're all in this together, be kind to one another, give love and support to all those who are on the front lines in any capacity, and let's be readers out there. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love, Gini
