Comic-Con Swag Pack Theme One: The Ultimate

HOOK ME UP! EXCLUSIVE CONTEST

I debated whether to share this one on Monday or Friday, but they're all so good, I figured I'd just go in order and save us all some brainpower.

This Swag Pack has it all! You get the official Comic-Con bag -- which is about 3.5-4 feet long, with a handle, featuring a Batman video game. The bag is awesome, but what's in the bag is primo!

A variety of posters of different sizes, some signed. Sample chapters from a variety of books and publishers. Complete books. Bookmarks. Postcards with cool artwork. Postcards with freebies attached. The "get" t-shirt: Scott Pilgrim. Other Scott Pilgrim stuff. Monster High school banner. Posters galore. Signed stuff. The Comic-Con schedule book. ARC of "the eternal ones" by Kirsten Miller. And more, more, more. And the biggie, exclusive, this is the ONLY place or way you can get this, ever: A souvenir Comic-Con program signed by me and the other panelists of my Superhero Superfiction panel! (Lou Anders, Jackie Kessler, Caitlin Kittredge, Kevin Andrew Murphy, Chris Roberson, Caroline Spector, Matt Sturges, and me -- 8 autographs in all!)

So, tell me why this pack should go to you, over all the other qualified Hook Me Up! subscribers. ;-D

Oh, and trust me, gang, I know who the Hook Me Up! subscribers are, so you can comment away, but it'll only do you good (and the HMU! gang knows why it'll do them good) if you're a subscriber. It's not too late, of course. Send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line you can find out how to enter and win!

Love,
Gini

I think this is my favorite of the swag bags because of the wide range of goodies (games, books, posters, etc.)

Why should it go to me instead of the other worthy Hook Me Uppers? Well...I'll probably do some giveaways on my site and will always provide shameless promotion for ya by letting everyone know where the goodies originally came from ;)

Oh yeah - and because I'm one heckuva guy :oP

I think, that I should win this one because I have loved comic books since I was a small child. Also, I have never got to go to comic con. (poor me) I really want to read The Eternal One, also.

I'd love to get my hands on that Scott Pilgrim shirt and fangirl out! I was so excited and happy when I heard that Edgar Wright, the director of Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, etc was directing it because he is so talented! All the items must be epic because its "ultimate"!

I didn't get to go to Comic Con (and if I did, it wouldn't be as a professional ^_-) but this sounds like the entire experience condensed into one bag.

I deserve it because I have been bookpushing Touched by an Alien since I read the last page, and I plan on buying Alien Tango on release date and finishing it that night. ^_^

Why this swag? So many different types of goodies.

Why me? Because I can share the love with my 14 and 18 y/o.

The bag should go to me because my husband would love it and thereby allow my stalking to increase in width and breadth. Because I, too, shall pass along the wealth and thereby attach the Gini Koch name to even more readers and book lovers.
Okay, so many are more worthy. Still, I want it!!!

Comic-con just has too many people for me to want to go (I'm just slightly antisocial :) ) but getting some goodies from it sounds nice. If anyone's looking for more info on the book or author there's a Q&A with the author on the Amazon listing for it.

Hey Gini,

You should pick me because I have Grasshopper. And yes I am not above using "our" son to get it. Oh, that sounds all bitter ex wife huh? Well how about I will share as much of this AWESOME stuff with fellow bloggers and beg you to come do an author interview on my blog? Well I will beg for the interview anyways....so please? With sugar and CHRISTOPHER on top. Plus don't forget I confused you with Elizabeth Gilbert - that has to count for something.

I am interested in any of the swag bags that include books; I love books and love reading new authors. And I also love free stuff. And going to Comic-Con is on my bucket list and, though I haven't acheieved it yet, this bag could make me feel like I had! Ok...that's enough reasons for this bag; I'll save the other reasons for the other bags!

Thanks again for the contest and good luck to everyone!

This pack should go to me b/c I am a total swag-whore and this would be an awesome fix!!! Plus, your book has got me curious about trying other sci-fi books, and this pack would be a good way to "feel it out" (heh, yeah, I said it!)

Thanks!

OMG OMG OMG

I really want this pack Gini!!!!

I should get it because I am a proud Geek that is stuck in Brazil and could not go to anywhere near Comic-Con or any other book convention this year!!

Between living in Israel and Brazil I am always in disadvantage =(

You are super awesome for giving away so many cool stuff! Thank hon!

@Sully,

Nope. I'm just doing my best impression of Annie (Kathy Bates' character from Misery) so I can get the swag.

I'm Gini's biggest fan. And if ever she drives off the side of the road and needs fixing up, I'm her girl -- and if she's good, and I get my swag, I'll leave my torturous tools at home. :D

Ooh, I really want the Scott Pilgrim T-shirt. I went this year but didn't get any Scott Pilgrim stuff, though I did get several "Touched by an Alien" magnets and passed them around to many people, which I would do again! :D

August 3, 2010 at 8:17 PM
Blogger Lisa Dovichi said...

@Jodi -- you mean you didn't try to sell them on Ebay??? LOL I'm still cracking up over that!

I'd say you should be low man on the totem pole as you actually WENT to Comic Con but as that would be the "Ultimate" set down (do I get extra points for using the swag pack name in a comment? :D ) and I'm not that mean, I'll refrain from mentioning it.

:P

I think I should win because even though I'm a huge geek, I'm here in Costa Rica, nowhere near the awesomeness of Comic-Con. So if you think about it, your prize packs are as close as I will be able to be to Comic-Con. Isn't that sad?? *.*

Wow all these comments are pretty persuasive, so I think I have to further explain why I should get the awesome Ultimate Prize Pack over these lovely people. It would make my whole summer to get this swag, I would treat these goodies if I won like a million bucks and you know what you do with that pile of cash, you swim in it, I would do that of course making sure not to damage any of the pretty prizes! Also it is my ULTIMATE dream to work/own a comic book store which I can promise if it ever hopefully in my wildest dreams happens, I'll have a little corner dedicated to the goodies you gave me AND giving total props to you! I'm talking about a cute little wooden plaque!

Lisa D.,

Forget about the sledge hammer and go with the axe. I thought the movie was great but hate that they made that particular change when it went from page to screen.

Marnie, 6 months is better than nothing so it sounds like a good deal to me.

Why should it go to me? Because if ever Nathan Fillion (or Matt Bomer) walked into my life, I'd be all like "Wait one moment, I have to call Gini." And I'd share. No, really. I totally would. *nods*

@Marty -- I know about the axe vs. sledgehammer disappointment but I was being Kathy Bates' Annie and she wasn't in the book per se.. she was in the movie. :D

@Amber -- a tantrum? That's all you got. Amateur.

I deserve the Ultimate Pack because if I don't get it all sorts of things could go wrong with Gini's site. *wink wink nudge nudge* all SORTS of things...

Just saying *cracking knuckles and looking tough*

I just wanted to say that I deserve this pack because I promise to not as Lisa said earlier in the comments, "turn all Kathy Bates in Misery on you." :)

I will dance around enthusiastically if I do win and I would review everything in the bag from the smallest book mark to the books and everything in between.

August 5, 2010 at 4:37 PM
Blogger Lisa Dovichi said...

@Becky -- you say "turn all Kathey Bates in Misery on you." like it's a BAD thing!!

I clearly meant it in the nicest most psychotic way possible and opted for the movie version to just hobble her if I didn't win instead of chopping her feet off.

*sweet crazy smile* :D

August 5, 2010 at 5:01 PM
Blogger Becky B. @ Bibliognome said...

@Lisa, well I guess that hobbling would be better then foot chopping off and could still lead to a good quality of life:)

So good luck to everybody:)

Blogger Lucky's Luna said...

@ Chelle-If Nathan Fillion walked up to me in real life I'd be paralyzed because he's so hot. Or I'd maybe try to ask a question and it'd sound weird because I'd be too star shocked!

I always wanted to ask after seeing him on the Comic Con G4 interview this year (that's how badly I wanted to go to it, settled for G4 interviews), he said Comic Con fans were great and don't yell for him to take his shirt off, so what fans do? I'm fairly sure it would be Desperate Housewives fans but I could be wrong. Does that "take your shirt off" line work on any celebrity? Maybe Taylor Launter? :)
