November's READ THIS! Book of the Month and Lots More!

Happy November!

Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite holiday, and I look forward to it if I have a big group or small coming to the Manse, or if we're going out. Regardless of where I'm eating, I'm grateful that I get to be eating.

But I also like the feelings that surround the holiday. I mean, the food alone is worth getting excited for and I enjoy entertaining, usually in between writing like a crazed wolverine (yes, I will be doing that again this year, promise). Especially because Thanksgiving ensures that pumpkin spice everything will be available. Yes, it's true -- I love pumpkin spice everything (other than beer -- tried it, it wasn't for me).

I also enjoy the lead up to this holiday, even the shopping, because it's all about food and making things that, many times, you only make once a year. Yes, it's true, as the hubs can attest, I love to shop.

It's also true that, as always, we have a great selection for this month's READ THIS! as well as lots more, so, before we compare stuffing/dressing recipes and start the arguments for who makes the best pumpkin pies, let's get to it, shall we? We shall!

READ THIS!

A Book Club by Moi for All Y'all

Welcome to READ THIS! A Book Club by Gini Koch. This is my chance to introduce you to some great authors that I love and know you will, too.

Every month I'll spotlight a book and, even better...every month I'll host a live discussion with the author, that all y'all can join! I know, it's too happy to be true, but true it is!

November 2022 READ THIS! Selection

The READ THIS! Selection for November 2022 is:

The Skewed Throne
The Throne of Amenkor #1
By Joshua Palmatier

Gini's Take: A plucky heroine, a throne that's become sentient and also gone completely crazy, and a great start to an epic fantasy adventure.

About the Author: JOSHUA PALMATIER is a fantasy author with a PhD in mathematics. His most recent fantasy novel, Reaping the Aurora, concludes the fantasy series begun in Shattering the Ley and Threading the Needle, although you can also find his “Throne of Amenkor” series and the “Well of Sorrows” series still on the shelves. He is currently hard at work writing his next novel and designing the Kickstarter for the next Zombies Need Brains anthology project. You can find out more at www.joshuapalmatier.com or at the small press’ site www.zombiesneedbrains.com. Or follow him on Twitter as @bentateauthor or @ZNBLLC.
November 2022 READ THIS! Author Q&A

The READ THIS! Selection for December 2022 is:

Alliance Rising
Martian Alliance Chronicles 1-3
By Gini Koch

Because I get asked this daily (often multiple times daily)...

Yes, Aliens Like Us IS coming, but...

No, Aliens Like Us still isn't ready for Prime Time, but...

I'm on Version 5 of the rewrite process. Does every book take me this long? No. Will all the others in the series take this long? Likely no. Life has tossed a lot at me and mine and that's made some things a struggle, but...

Kitty is always with me, and she's not going to let the bad things win, in any universe.

So...Watch this space for more updates as I have them. And keep those digits crossed for the hope that my shouting "the end!" comes sooner as opposed to later.

P.S. I am definitely heading towards the end game. I realize that's vague, but it means that I think we'll be shouting "hurrah" somewhere in the nearish term. Digits crossed, at any rate...

P.P.S. Watch this space, I'm hoping to share happy news soon.
