Dragon Con Is Upon Us!

Dragon Con starts, officially, on Thursday but it starts for me on Wednesday. Wheee! It's the biggest con in the Southeast and there is just a ton going on! My final schedule is now live, too.

The READ THIS! Selection for September 2026 is:  The Flayer by D.C Phillips Gini's Take: A cozy Southern Gothic horror (yes, it's possible!) that you'll enjoy all the way through. About the Author: D.C. Phillips is the author of Frightful Fables, a darkly dynamic collection of 13 short stories largely inspired by classic horror comics of yesteryear. His work has appeared in a number of publications, including Georgia Gothic, the first official anthology compiled by the Atlanta Chapter of the Horror Writers Association. Additionally, his spooky (but not too scary) children’s book, Man’s Best Phantom, was released in English and Spanish in 2023. He welcomes communication across social media (@frightfulfables). Once a child himself, he felt inspired to write something spooky that he would've loved to read. He lives in a definitely not-haunted home in the Atlanta area with his husband and two dogs.

So, you've read the READ THIS! selection and you want to share what you thought with the author, hang out with them and Gini, and generally talk books for an hour. Well, guess what? You can! The third Thursday of every month will be READ THIS! Author Q&A time. The event will be held utilizing Discord, and the invitation to Gini's READ THIS! room will come out in the week prior to the chat. And that's not all! Near the end of each Q&A session, we'll be doing a raffle and one lucky winner will get a copy of the next month's READ THIS! selection! (You must be present in the Q&A to win.
