More Comic-Con and the Swag Beginneth

Happy Monday! Well, vacay's nice, but it's nicer to be back in the casa with full access to all I want access to! As my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, we've got a packed day today, so let's get to it!

First off, some have asked me for a description of how my panel went. Conveniently, an audience member did a full write-up (and I got the lead! Woot!), so check it out at Superhero Novels.

Next up, I was gone and more reviews of "Touched by an Alien" came in! There's a great one over at Wicked Little Pixie. And the DAW Books Community has a good one, too. Check them out, leave some Alien Collective love!

Amber Scott's launched the next two books for Project Pay it Forward -- check 'em out, I'm pretty sure you'll all agree that these selections are totally worthy!

And now, what I know you're all waiting for -- the launch of the Comic-Con Swag Pack Giveaway! Check out the info on my Win Stuff page, and prepare to drool accordingly. Each day this week I'm going to describe a Swag Pack in more detail here at the blog (separate from standard blog update posts). In order to be entered into the giveaway, first, you have to be on Hook Me Up! Second...well, the instructions for how to enter are going only to Hook Me Up! subscribers. So, send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line right away so you can get the deets and get your entry in!

These Swag Packs are amazing and huge! In "I'm glad I save big boxes" huge. In "Wow, it's like you were there without the expense or the exhaustion" huge. In "You're gonna WANT these" huge. In "I need to get on Hook Me Up! TODAY" huge. So, what are you waiting for? The Swag ain't gettin' any better, bigger or more available!

Love,
Gini

Besides meeting Nathan (yes I feel I am on a first name basis-I have seen Firefly and Serenity a gazillion times)

What would you see was an ah ah moment? (ok besides the I am going as a professional!) I have never been to a CON so I am curious.

LOL, Brandy, no worries. I'll gently nudge you if you enter incorrectly somehow. And it's great to BE back! {HUGS}

Hmmm, Marnie. I didn't get to actually meet Nathan, or any other celeb (other than author celebs), so I can't claim that meeting him was the highlight or even an ah ha moment. Being in the Castle panel was a ROFL hour, and it was tons of fun, so from an entertainment perspective, that was my highlight.

From a professional (you KNEW I was gonna get that in there somehow!) standpoint, I think the best parts of the whole con for me were: getting to be on a panel; getting to go to lunch with a bunch of Penguin authors; getting to go to dinner with a bunch of DAW authors. I was the "baby author" of the group -- everyone else has more pubbed than I do -- and everyone was so nice, and helpful, and free with the excellent advice. So those 3 experiences made the conference for me.

Oh, and a fan came back to the Penguin booth several times until she got to meet me, and a new fan took a picture with me. Those were both awesome moments, too. Oh, and getting to meet lots of the folks at Penguin who help distribute, sell and promote my books. They were all totally cool and SO VERY YOUNG. My God, I felt like Methuselah and I'm not really all that old!

So, I guess I can't pin it down to one thing. But both my fangirl side and my professional side had a blast and I can't wait for next year's Comic-Con!

I know you must have had a great time. :) Just to be lucky enough to win even one pack would be a miracle. Very exciting indeed.

Thanks, Carol. Seriously, my husband spent most of Comic-Con going, "I can't believe what we're bringing home. Your fans have no idea what they're getting."

The Swag is EPIC.

I just wish I'd gotten more...
