Time for November's READ THIS! Author Q&A and More!

Happy Almost Thanksgiving!

My favorite holiday of the year is almost upon us, but before we all go stuff our faces or, for those that don't celebrate, have a nice old Thursday, we've got a great READ THIS! Author Q&A. So, let's get right to it, shall we? We shall!

November 2022 READ THIS! Author Q&A
November's READ THIS! author Q&A with author Joshua Palmatier
will be on
Thursday, November 17, 2022
from 9pm-10pm Eastern.

Access to Discord is available worldwide, and everyone is invited to attend!

You do not need to be a Discord member/user to attend:
Use this link https://discord.gg/MnQDEKFYjU to go directly to the chat room!

(You also don't need to have finished the book to join in the fun. We authors know that everyone reads at their own pace and we just want to hang out with you guys and have some good times!)

Once in, you'll get to join in the fun of asking authors about their "process" and more. PLUS, one lucky winner will get December's READ THIS! selection for FREE! I know! It's too happy to be true! But true it is, so don't miss out!

(You must be present in the chat to win.
Physical copies U.S. only; ebook copies worldwide.)

The READ THIS! Selection for November 2022 is:

The Skewed Throne
The Throne of Amenkor #1
By
Joshua Palmatier

Gini's Take: A plucky heroine, a throne that's become sentient and also gone completely crazy, and a great start to an epic fantasy adventure.

About the Author: JOSHUA PALMATIER is a fantasy author with a PhD in mathematics. His most recent fantasy novel, Reaping the Aurora, concludes the fantasy series begun in Shattering the Ley and Threading the Needle, although you can also find his “Throne of Amenkor” series and the “Well of Sorrows” series still on the shelves. He is currently hard at work writing his next novel and designing the Kickstarter for the next Zombies Need Brains anthology project. You can find out more at www.joshuapalmatier.com or at the small press’ site www.zombiesneedbrains.com. Or follow him on Twitter as @bentateauthor or @ZNBLLC.

Alliance Rising
Martian Alliance Chronicles 1-3
By Gini Koch

Because I get asked this daily (often multiple times daily)...

Yes, Aliens Like Us IS coming, but...

No, Aliens Like Us still isn't ready for Prime Time, but...

I'm on Version 5 of the rewrite process. Does every book take me this long? No. Will all the others in the series take this long? Likely no. Life has tossed a lot at me and mine and that's made some things a struggle, but...

Kitty is always with me, and she's not going to let the bad things win, in any universe.

So...Watch this space for more updates as I have them. And keep those digits crossed for the hope that my shouting "the end!" comes sooner as opposed to later.

P.S. I am definitely heading towards the end game. I realize that's vague, but it means that I think we'll be shouting "hurrah" somewhere in the nearish term. Digits crossed, at any rate...

P.P.S. Watch this space, I'm hoping to share happy news soon.
World Fantasy Con Recap

WFC 2022 was great, and I had a fantastic time. How fantastic? I, um, forgot to take a lot of pictures because I was having so much fun. I mean, we were in New Orleans, one of THE cities for fun, so it would have been criminal not to, you know, have that fun. And to eat. A lot. Which was, naturally, fun. And delicious. But despite all of this, some folks with me managed to get a few snaps, so here they are in all their glory.

One of the highlights was that I got to spend a lot of time with my awesome agent, Cherry Weiner.
I also got to hang out with awesome author Meg Leader (L) and Member of the Alien Collective in Very Good Standing Koleta Parsley (middle). Plus we went on The City of New Orleans paddlewheel ship which trips are always awesome.

Clockwise from the bottom, new pal Thea Hutcheson, awesome editor and longtime pal David Boop, Meg, and Cherry at my fave spot in NOLA, Acme Oyster House.
A pic of what REALLY matters in NOLA -- good food and good friends. Pic taken while scarfing the goodness and drinking the Bourbon Milk Punches at Bourbon House (my tied-for-second fave place in NOLA <tied with Napoleon House> which is next door to my first fave place...I have a theme and I stick with it) by my newest soul sister, Liz Gooch. Elbows courtesy of new pal Carol Doms and longtime friend (and excellent shopping buddy) awesome author Nancy Greene.

Love, Gini
