Combo-Con Pack 2 - Horror

HOOK ME UP! EXCLUSIVE CONTEST

I went to World Fantasy Con and all I came home with were tons of books. Then I went to TusCon 37 and all I came home with were lots of posters. So I thought to myself, “Self, I think it’s time to do another giveaway. After all, the Swag Hounds expect.”

So, here it is, the Combo-Con Contest, in honor of the release of “Alien Tango” (‘cause, you know, I don’t have nearly enough going on RIGHT NOW).

Combo-Con Pack 2 -- Horror
Also loaded with posters, from “Saw” to “Robin Hood” to “RED” (24 posters in all!) and also containing a full set of “Twilight: Eclipse” posters, this pack is loaded with 4 books living on the dark and weird side, including “Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters” by Jane Austen and Ben. H. Winters, "Pallid Light: The Walking Dead" by William Jones, "Living Shadows" by John Shirley, and "The Word of GOD" by Thomas. M. Disch. Also comes with a signed Gini Koch 2011 calendar to call your very own -- which, since it's a poster, will make 25 posters in all...it's only 1 poster less than Combo-Con Pack 1...and who needs the poster for "Devil" when you have these books to cover the creepy?

In order to get those needed extra entry points, answer this question: If you could be on a panel with me at a con, what would our topic be, and why would you be considered expert enough to run the yap with me about it?

Love,
Gini

(Not on Hook Me Up! yet so you don't know what's going on? Hit Win Stuff and get signed up NOW!)

Ah HAH! Hopefully the first to comment!

If we were on a Panel at a Con it would be about The Way, and I would be an expert because I am Grasshoppers Mother.

I would never be on a panel of anything! If I had to speak in front a crowd I would freeze and make a fool out of myself! It's just not for me!

If I could be on a panel with you at a con, it would have to be one that talks about Star Trek. I'm very much an expert since my Dad loved the series so much so that means I watched it to. I've watched some of the original, and probably all of TNG, Deep Space 9, Voyager and most of Enterprise. Not to mention I think I've seen all the movies.

Other then that I'm an expert at SpongeBob Squarepants. :)

Oh, this was too easy. We would be on a panel about Castle and how Nathan Fillion crosses all different types of mediums and brings his fans with him to each new one.

Our panel would be on Martini! Duh! But, I'd get to talk about him. About my pillowcase with him on it. About all his cocky flirt wonderfulness and how his character arc over six plus books will melt every last heart and panties.

We'd have to talk about fictitious heroine clothing choices. I'd like to talk about how stylish heroines can do their crazy running in skinny jeans or if skirts are inappropriate as the bad guys might get some upskirt action. Maybe jeggings really do have a good use case.

@van-pham: Yes. I Twi-hard. But only in the closet. Martini beats Edward any day though. He's packing more...er, power.
@Freecia: jeggings are a dirty word and smash my butt.

Fun! We would be on the Super Women panel where we could discuss how you can combine great action and humour in a kickass female character w/out sacrificing the romance :)

OOH!! Becky! I want on the SpongeBob panel too!

Our topic would be about falling head-over-heels for our heroes in our books and how we take auditions to do additional hands-on research for the sex scenes we write. ;) LOL! Seriously, it would be all about promo and marketing and building that tribe.

@Amber: I can't believe you're a closet Twi-harder. But you are right--Martini beats Edward hands down. Martini rocks! ;)

@Fiction There's always room for more people on the SpongeBob panel. :)

I've probably seen every episode, have parts of a lot of episodes memorized, loved the movie, and have all the music from the show.

WWSD? What Would Spongebob Do? My favorite episode is the one where they accidentally free Manray.
Now, back to Martini. Cocky flirt. Amazing in bed. Mulitple O's. One panel would not be enough.
@Ann, yes. closet. big time.

My favorite SpongeBob episodes are Band Geeks, the one where they think they killed the health inspector, and Sandy's Rocket(the episode where they think that everyone is an alien).
So it would be an interesting/fun panel.

SpongeBob is currently corrupting America's youth -- I have forbidden my child from watching it. It would only be worse if Snookie did a guest appearance with I Kissed A Girl singer in a corset next to her singing the SB theme song... *ducks*

I think we should do a panel about more high brow stuff than this grade school nonsense... how about the influence of alien abductions on reality television shows?? I personally believe it is how the evil aliens are infiltrating our world. They are trying to portray their societal behaviors as real by showing aliens on reality television so we will be acclimated by the time the take over starts.

@ParaJunkeeNow don't be comparing SpongeBob to Katie Perry and Snookie that's just wrong. Katie Perry and Snookie are 100% more annoying then SpongeBob is.

I do agree with you about aliens and reality tv, just look at Snookie I'm pretty sure she's not an actual human along with just about anybody on those Real Housewives shows.

@Parajunkee: I don't think spongebob is that bad, i mean yeah it's weird as hell sometimes but that's it. I don't know if anyone saw this but on the news their was this kid who saved his friend who was drowning..how did he know how to save his friend?! By watching Spongebob haha.

I hate reality t.v. it's not that entertaining, just pointless and dumb.

@Becky: think i've seen the health inspector episode a over 20 times...since my nephew has a dvd and watches it over and over haha.

@Becky - I guess you have to give SB some credit, he is a cartoon, Katie Perry and Snookie have no excuse right? Have you seen Snookie's new tanning bed commercial or whatever it is...sorry it is a NUT commercial. Now this is just wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaZW-l8Ho-8

@Van - so Spongbob teaches kids mouth to mouth now??? Interesting. I didn't get that memo. I like the reality tv shows where the women pull each other's weave out and try to punch each other but their fake nails are too long that they can't close their fists...those are fun.

December 4, 2010 at 12:29 AM
Blogger Van Pham said...

@Parajunkee: Well not mouth to mouth haha, the kid pulled his friend out of the water and they both swam back to shore. What reality show are you watching, because what you described is probably more than 50% of what's out there >.<.

More reasons why SpongeBob is cool:

Some of my favorite quotes:
"I am confident in my abilities to successfully succeed."

"With these spiky cleats, anything is possible!"

"Just do what I do when I have problems. SCREAM."

"It's not the boots, it's the boot-ee. Err... I mean, uh... the person in the boots. "

@Lily of Darkness: I am also a Gleek ;) but i'm reallly starting to dislike Rachel >:P.

Gini, we would be on a panel about Rock-N-Roll and the effects of good music on the mind, body and soul. And we would be drinking red wine or Long Island Ice Teas while doing it. After which drunken singing and revelry would ensue.

@van_pham I have to confess I have not watched since the Rocky Horror one. I know, I know, I am going to Glee hell.

I was die hard Smallville for years and then the last two seasons I have only watched one or two of, which makes me sort of sad because I heard there were new writers and they were going to take it back to comics. When Lex died that was the end for me.

How about a panel at comic-con. We could do the Flintstones and debate the pebbles/bam-bam relationship, if Fred and Barney really had a thing going on, OH and I know all the Flintstone songs!

@Lily of darkness: I'm sure you didn't miss much, think there was a 2 week break from the show.

I use to watch and lovveed smallville, I probably stopped watching around the same time Lex died too! I didn't like how they kept dragging the show (like when were we going to see the red and blue suit?...) and there were too many new characters i got lost and gave up.
