Alien in the Family is live and SHOULD be able to be brought into your homes and e-readers, but...
This time it's Amazon with the challenges. B&N, Kobo, and Apple Books all have the bookie wookie in their various forms. Amazon, though...
Amazon, for THIS book, the third book, has decided that I'm stealing my own book. Now, before we get mad at the 'Zon, this is them trying to protect the publisher and author. BUT, said author has sent them the rights reversion contract AND the new re-release contract (2 weeks ago) and they are still "investigating" the situation.
MEANWHILE, Alien Proliferation has sailed through and is available everywhere, including at Amazon.
The situation with how the hardbacks go out is still the same, currently for Proliferation and one day for Family, too (though we have no clue when that day will be).
SO, you can get the new versions in ebook, trade paperback, hardback, and trophy hardback complete with a snazzy dust cover! The trophy hardback is from B&N.com only, as a reminder.
The searching via Amazon and B&N.com remains spotty, in no small part because those two distributors still have some mass market copies they're determined to sell. So, as suggested for Touched and Tango, and as recommended for every book coming through 16/Aliens Abroad, go to the Ginger Blue Releases page, click on the cover of your choosing, and choose which option or options you want. The links on GBP's website will take you to the right spots at B&N and Amazon to get the version you want.
Confusing? Yes. Ultimately manageable? Sure. And B&N may get itself fixed and Amazon, too. Or not, and we'll be doing this for 16 books. Mambo Number 1-16 B&N/Zon, as I'm now going to call it.
Now for the old reviews status. On B&N all the reviews seem to have stuck, though they're locked to the ebooks (meaning that they don't show the reviews if you're on the trade paperback or hardback selections). For Amazon, the reviews for Touched and Proliferation stuck. The reviews for Tango did not. And, of course, we have no idea yet for Family.
SO, please review early and often on either site, since, as we well know, reviews matter, especially at Amazon, B&N, and Goodreads.
So, officially, we have no clue about Alien in the Family at Amazon but otherwise...Alien in the Family is 3/4 live to the world and Alien Proliferation is live everywhere! |
