Outlandish Thursday

Well, as you all know, I'm heading to the Jambalaya Writers' Conference tomorrow. (For those keeping score at home: Of course I'm not packed yet.) But before I go, there's much going on, so let's get all y'all caught up!

First off, head over to my Ta-Daaa! page and check out the full preliminary final cover of Alexander Outland: Space Pirate by G.J. Koch (yes, that's moi), coming June 5th from Night Shade Books. It's the full cover, so the back cover blurb is on there, too!

After checking that out, let's check out some reviews. See what Pearls Cast Before a McPig and My 5 Monkeys thought of Alien Diplomacy. Then, for those who speak or read French, check out what Bananas in the Void thought of Touched by an Alien.

Fiction Affliction at Tor.Com and Anna's Book Blog both have good lists of April's releases. And don't miss finding out what Larissa's Bookish Life chose as the Top 5 Book Covers so far of 2012.

By the way and in case you didn't know, Alien Diplomacy releases this coming Tuesday, April 3. However, I'm getting the good word that there are some bookstores that already have it on the shelves, so feel free to race out and see if your bookstore is one of them!

That's it for today. Must get packed (and *cough* finish Alien vs. Alien). Will see some of you in Louisiana (can't wait!) and will catch all of you on the flip side. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and let's be readers out there!

Love,
Gini

Yappin' It Up

Hey there! Hope everyone's week has been going swimmingly. As my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, mine has been focused (still) on getting Alien vs. Alien done. (Status Update: Still not done. But, soon. Very soon. Um, 'cause it's due next week.) But enough about me and my stress! Let's get on to what's going on, so to speak.

First up, head over to Were-Vamps Romance and check out the latest interview with moi. There's also a chance to win a signed copy of Alien Tango.

Next, see what Crow Pickings thought of Alien in the Family.

Reminder that Book 2 of The Neighborhood, by Anita Ensal (yes, that's moi), Being Neighborly, releases tomorrow, March 23, from Musa Publishing.

In-Person Update:
-- Jambalaya Writers' Conference on Saturday, March 31, Houma, LA. Heather Graham and Rick Bragg will be there, too, along with a ton of other big names, so if you're anywhere near New Orleans (Houma's about an hour away), you don't want to miss this one.
-- LepreCon 38, April 6-8, Tempe, AZ. Don't miss the chance to meet Stephen Furst (Flounder from Animal House/Vir from Babylon Five) and amazing author Joe Haldeman, as well as tons of other guests (including, you know, moi).
-- Desert Dreams Writers' Conference, April 27-29, Scottsdale, AZ. In addition to moi, awesome authors Bob Mayer, Erin Quinn, Caris Roane, Erin Kellison, Amber Scott, Brenda Novak, and MORE will be there.
-- Phoenix Comicon, May 24-27, Phoenix, AZ. Check out the easy to read guest list at Geek News Network because there are too many big names coming for me to list here. And more guests are adding weekly, so don't miss out!

That's it for today. I'm going back to Alien vs. Alien. You go back to getting down with your bad selves. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Festival Roundup

Well, as my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, I'm back from Tucson. Okay, okay, I was back on Monday. But, you know, things got busy. But, never fear, the Tucson Festival of Books Roundup is coming. But first, let's get to the latest news.

First up, head over to Fictitious Musings and see what they thought of Alien Proliferation. Then head to Book Talk with the Woodridge Public Library and check out which books they've enjoyed so far this year.

Check out the nice things Spacetrawler has to say about the series -- and check out the fun, funny, and cool comic strip while you're there. Then head over and see the interesting things awesome author June Kramin has to say over at Romance Lives Forever.

Now, for the TFOB Roundup! First off, much love and many thanks to all of the Alien Collective who came by to see me (and especially to Koren for the DELISH cookies and The Bookpushers for the awesome Festival Survival Kit!) at panels and at my signing at the Mysterious Galaxy booth. It was great seeing all of you, and I wish we'd had more time to hang out and visit.

But the Festival is always busy and jam-packed with things to do! Among the things I did was panel with some awesome authors -- Lorelie Brown, Karen Hawkins, Dennis McKiernan, Robin Hobb, Sam Sykes, and Maxwell Alexander Drake. (Some of you will recognize Drake from my first Comic-Con contest, as he provided several signed flyers and posters. And yes, he's still a cool, fun dude.) I also got to hang out with the ever-awesome Erin Quinn. So it was a fabulous event all the way around.

Next up for me is the Jambalaya Writers' Conference in Houma, LA, which is about an hour outside of New Orleans. It's not only a great chance to see me, but also see a lot of other awesome authors, like Heather Graham and Rick Bragg, and the cost is beyond reasonable. So, if you're in the area on March 31, be sure to come on by! I'll be the one in the pink sparkly cowgirl hat. You know, like always.

Everyone have a fabulous weekend and enjoy a fun and safe St. Patrick's Day weekend. I'll catch you on the flip side, and let's remember to be readers out there!

Love,
Gini

Festival Humpin'

Happy Hump Day! It's the middle of the week, and that means it's all the good kind of downhill from here! For me, I'm looking forward to attending the Tucson Festival of Books. If you are, too, be sure to find me! I have panels at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday, and am signing in the Mysterious Galaxy booth #255 at 3pm on Saturday.

Speaking of attending things, the Jambalaya Writers' Conference isn't far away. If you're in the general area of Houma, LA (about an hour from New Orleans), consider coming, because I'll be there, and so will a host of other authors. See what the Tri-Parish Times has to say about the con and make your reservations today!

But, as my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, there's more going on this week, including a big reveal at the end, so let's get all y'all caught up! First off, let's look at some reviews. RT Book Reviews just named Alien Diplomacy a Top Pick in their April issue! Check out what Crow Pickings thought of Alien Tango. Then see what Pearls Cast Before a McPig thought of Contingency Plan by Anita Ensal (yes, that's moi).

Now, bounce back to the website. In addition to the fact that the Royal Poofs have joined us, check out the rest of the newly redesigned Alien Collective Depot. Those of you waiting for "your" team logos can rejoice -- they're there, and then some!

Newsy Stuff and Accolades have also been updated. But something else has also been updated as well. I mentioned a big reveal, right? Well, here it is...

Check out the world premiere of the cover art, done by the wonderful John Stanko, for Alexander Outland: Space Pirate, by G.J. Koch (yes, also moi) at Ta-Daaaa!

Alexander Outland: Space Pirate will release from Night Shade Books on June 5, 2012, in trade paperback and ebook formats. You can pre-order your copy right now, too, so don't delay!.

That's it for today, but as always, more's just around the corner. Have a wonderful weekend, whether you're with me at the Festival or elsewhere, and let's be readers out there! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Excerpt Day

Happy Friday! Hope everyone had a great week (or at least survived it with shreds of sanity intact) and that you're all ready for the weekend. And, as my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, to head you into said weekend in style, we have something for your reading pleasure.

Head over to Deathless Prose and check out the intro and first chapter of Alien Diplomacy. THEN, head over to the Ethan Jones Blog and check out another excerpt!

After that, get thee to The Boyish Booklover and see what he thought of all of Alien Diplomacy. And after all that, do your girl a solid and pre-order Alien Diplomacy (and Alien vs. Alien, while you're at it).

Alexander Outland: Space Pirate, by G.J. Koch (three guesses who that is, and the first two don't count) is available now for pre-order. Yes, I know I talk about pre-orders a lot. Because they matter more than a lot. Bestseller lists are great, but for those of us who aren't yet household names, pre-orders are where it's at.

But enough shameless begging! For today, at least. Check out what Giraffe Days thought of Alien Proliferation. And take a look at the new titles NoraAdrienne's Reviews is looking forward to this year and next.

Hard to believe, but Tucson Festival of Books is literally right around the corner. If you're going, be sure to find me! I'm on panels at 10am on both Saturday March 10 and Sunday March 11, and will be signing at the Mysterious Galaxy booth #255 at 3pm on the 10th.

The Jambalaya Writer's Conference is also right around the corner. So all Alien Collective Members in and around the New Orleans area, check it out and come on down!

That's it for today, but never fear, we'll be back with more next week. So until then, let's be readers out there! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini
