Halloween Sensations

Hey there, everyone! Hope everyone's had wonderful weeks so far! It's been busy over here, you know, as per usual, in part with all the handing out of prizes from the last contest and whatnot. However, much is going on and all y'all need to know about it!

First up, in honor of Halloween, there's a new flash fiction short story of mine, "Moonlight Becomes You", over at Books Make Me Happy as part of their week-long celebration. There's also lots of other shorts from other UF/PNR authors there, and prizes, so go have some fun!

After that, check out what Collings Notes has to say about the A Darke Phantistique anthology, which features "Outsiders" by moi writing as J.C. Koch. Then, for those Members of the Alien Collective in Very Good Spanish Reading Standing, check out what Fantástica – Ficción has to say about Two Hundred and Twenty-One Baker Streets, featuring my story "All the Single Ladies".

Speaking of A Darke Phantastique, if you're in SoCal, don't forget to come see the me, and at least ten other awesome authors, at the mass signing on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Mystery and Imagination Bookstore. The party starts at 5:30 and rumors have it that there will be cake and wine. And who can so no to cake AND wine? Many, I'm sure, but I'm not one of them. And remember to bring any books of mine that you have to the event so you can get your bookies wookies signed and such!

2D - Innit beautiful? (Ralph says, "Hi.")
Speaking of irresistible things, check out what's coming your way in November, on the 17th to be exact. That's right, the Sensational Six: Action and Adventure in Sci Fi, Fantasy and Paranormal Romance ebook boxed set! Featuring stories from Sasha White, Jordan Summers, Vivi Anna, Caris Roane, Marsheila Rockwell & Jeff Mariotte, and, of course, moi. That's six great stories from seven authors, or as I think of us, Six Gals and a Guy. (I think we have a TV show in the making here...)

And how much will this sensational set be? For a limited time it's going to be a whopping $0.99. YES, less than a DOLLAR for six great stories! For full details on each author and story included (and blog tour spots, if you're a blogger who'd like in on the action) check out the cool page NK Book Tours set up!
3D - so cool! (Ralph says, "Buy this set!")

And, yes, the book of mine that'll be included in this set is The Night Beat, Necropolis Enforcement #1. For those of you who already have The Night Beat, don't think you'll miss out. First off, there will be those five other awesome stories. And...there will be a very good-sized excerpt of...wait for it...yes...Necropolis Enforcement #2, aka Night Music. (Yes, it's coming to you early in 2015...and this time that's a firm promise.) This is the only place you'll find this excerpt until Night Music releases, so if you want to catch up on what Victoria and her team of ready and willing undeads are up to, this boxed set is the only way to get a Necropolis fix for a while. Bottom line: Don't miss out on this one!

Speaking of missing out, did you, on the Temporally Out of Order anthology Kickstarter? Well, fear not! You can actually get in on pre-orders and other goodies via the publisher, Zombies Need Brains -- scroll down to the bottom of the page for details on how to pre-order this exceptionally cool antho, loaded with exceptionally cool authors, including moi.

We move from issues with time travel and its related issues to some shenanigans. Apparently there's some woman named Jody Wallace who's written some kind of book thing that parodies lots of  other book things. And she apparently even found a way to get me to give her a blurb for this book thing of hers. (I was probably drinking.) Check out her extremely suspect interview over at SF Signal where she and Heather Massey discuss the very suspect Mari Shu series. (BTW, Jody Wallace is NOT moi -- seriously, she's not -- though I hear she likes to pretend she is late at night when no one else is looking...at least when she THINKS no one else is looking...ha ha ha Jody, I have friends at the NSA!)

And now, for some science! Science that is determined to prove that I write nonfiction, to be exact. Check out what Scientific American has to say about quantum worlds and universes and all that cool jazz. ACE, Sandy, and Algar all say you should get educated, lest what happens to Kitty in Universal Alien happens to you.

Speaking of Universal Alien, have you done your girl a solid and pre-ordered that puppy yet? If yes, many {HUGS} and *smootchies*. If no, what, really, are you waiting for? Pre-orders matter, hugely, and you can pre-order copies to be sent right to you or to be picked up at your favorite bookstore, whatever you like best.

Last but not least, for those participating, have a very fun, happy, and above all, safe Halloween. Remember to keep your eyes open for all the little A-Cs out there, and also please be vigilant with pets -- yours and anyone else's -- especially those with black or dark fur. Enjoy the candy comas, and let's be sugared up readers out there! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Last Days of...

Hey there! Yet another short and sweet one today. I know! I either save it all up and you don't hear from me for a week or more, or I dribble it out, one little thing at a time. It's all down to my whim and the timestamps on the "things".

In this case, we have two timestamps! Number one -- hit Books Make Me Happy for the third and final day of the Coastal Magic con giveaway featuring dinner with moi. Today's the last day to enter and win, and the winners from Days 1 and 2 are already announced, so this puppy moves fast!

Our other timestamp is on the Kaiju Rising: Age of Monsters Kickstarter. We're down to the last 2 days, and the last few hundred dollars to make the last stretch goal, which is some awesome, Kaiju Rising specific, full color artwork. This is a great anthology, filled with awesome authors including moi, writing as J.C. Koch. So if you haven't funded yet, today's really the day. Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

Last but in no way least, check out the covers Gizmo's Reviews is loving on right now.

That's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. So enjoy the upcoming weekend, and let's be readers out there! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Kaiju Humping

(Made you look.)

Happy Hump Day! Another short and sweet one today, but still managing to be action-packed. So let's get to it, shall we? We shall!

First up, it's Day 2 of the Alien Research Cover Reveal Contest over at Books Make Me Happy. Yesterday's winner is already chosen and announced, so get on it and get entered to win dinner with moi at the Coastal Magic con in February.
BTW, in case you'd like to see the cover along with its full back cover blurb, head over to the Alien Collective Virtual HQ for a looksee and the teaser for what's coming in December.

The Kaiju Rising Kickstarter is down to its last 3 days and last stretch goal. We've unlocked all authors and stories, and we're less than $725 away from getting some amazing new, full color artwork for supporters. So check it out and fund now if you're able, because this is gonna be huge!

Last but not least, see what Clockwork Universe: Steampunk vs. Aliens Kickstarter contributor Alligators and Aneurysms -- love that name! -- thought of one of the prizes for contributors: A Cup of Joe by Anita Ensal (yes, that's moi).

That's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. So enjoy the downward slide towards the weekend and let's be readers out there!

It's Cover Time!

Happy Tuesday!

It's a short, sweet, and exciting one today. As promised...Winter's Cover is Coming...to Books Make Me Happy as a matter of fact! Otherwise known as the Alien Research Cover Reveal!

Race over to see the new cover, and stick around to get entered to win dinner with moi at Coastal Magic in February. There will be three days of contest, to be exact, with extra chances to win if you visit every day and answer each different question (all related to music, of course).

So what are you waiting for? Off you go!

Gini

Singing Kaijus

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was filled with writing which is, I know, as it should be.

Among the things I wrote was a guest post over at Books Make Me Happy about music and writing. And the news that is big news is also mentioned in that post. So, you know, head on over and have a looksee. And then plan to head over tomorrow for a REAL looksee. An Alien Research related looksee, by the way.

Next, head over to Nocturnal Book Reviews to see what she thinks of the whole Alien/Katherine "Kitty" Katt series.

Then, check out this great video about Kaiju Rising edited by the wonderful Michael Edstrom, who's also a part of the anthology. And there's even a kaiju song, courtesy of awesome author Natania Barron. (Yes, it's a musical Monday over here at Alien Collective Headquarters.)

Speaking of which, have you funded the Kaiju Rising: Age of Monsters Kickstarter yet? We've unlocked every author so far, and now only have one amazing artwork level yet. Can we hit it? I hope so. Have you funded? I hope so again! Because it's gonna be not just huge, but kaiju huge! Which, as we all know, is huger than huge! So if you haven't gotten kaiju fever yet, visit the Kickstarter, check it out, and fund if you can, because it's going to be so very, very worth it. BTW, there are still tuckerizations left -- not mine, but you can't go wrong with any of the authors involved. So if you want to be in a story that's in a wicked cool anthology, check out the remaining options and get yourself kaijued!

Well, that's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. So enjoy the start of the week and let's be readers out there!

Yap Rising

Happy Friday! I know, I've been quiet for a little while, but that's because I've been busy. With what, you ask, aside from working on Alien Collective? (Yes, that title comes from all of youuuuuu...) Well, let's get to today's update and you'll find out!

First up, the yap is large and in charge over at Bookworm Blues talking about anthologies, and kaiju anthologies in particular.
Speaking of which, Kaiju Rising: Age of Monsters Kickstarter is funded AND we've reached the interior artwork (which is gonna be AMAZING) and the first AND second stretch author (the great Kane Gilmour and Howard Andrew Jones) levels. But there are more levels to go, including getting to stories from two other awesome authors ( Peter Stenson and James Swallow ) and a super duper artwork level. So if you haven't joined the Rising yet and funded this cool anthology, what are you waiting for?

Next up, check out what Love Rocks thought of The Night Beat.

Then, head over to see which book series Larissa's Bookish Life chose as her all-time faves.

The Book Junkies Choice Awards are lining up, and they have their finalists all chosen. So please be prepared to start voting for Alien in the House for Best SciFi, please and thank you! Voting for this category opens October 14.

Now, bookmark the Books Make Me Happy blog. Why? Because on Monday I'll be guest posting over there...and on Tuesday I'll be revealing the cover for Alien Research there. Yes! And why there instead of at my own site, you ask? Well, I'm revealing there because there will be a very cool contest also being announced over there in conjunction with my cover reveal...a contest that relates to the Coastal Magic event. So, get ready -- next week's gonna be big. Kaiju big, really.

That's it for today, but, as just stated, more's definitely on the way. So enjoy the weekend, and let's be readers out there. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini
