The READ THIS! Selection for September 2021 is:

"Fabulous in Tights"
By Hal Bodner

Gini's Take: A fun and funny take on the superhero genre, with real heart and soul. The Whirlwind is someone Kitty would love to hang out with, and if that's not the highest praise I can give, I don't know what is.

About the Author: Hal Bodner is best known for writing hilarious paranormal featuring fluffy vampires with real bite. He writes paranormal romance and is working on a series of thrillers which paint classic noir with a lavender glaze, and has the second in his fun and funny Whirlwind superhero novels coming from Crossroads Press in 2021. Find him at https://halbodner.com.

Looking for more things to read while waiting for me to finish Aliens Like Us? Check out this list of all the science fiction novels nominated for a Goodreads award! Yes, you'll find Alien in the Family, and more, on that list, so check it out and find some more great reads!
Because I get asked this daily (often multiple times daily)...

Yes, Aliens Like Us IS coming, but...

No, Aliens Like Us still isn't ready for Prime Time, but...

I'm writing like a crazed wolverine (and yes, all the other projects aren't distractions, they KEEP me writing) so...

Fear not, Kitty & Company will be back later than you want but sooner than you think...

I promise.

That's it for today but, never fear, another Update, including next month's READ THIS! selection, will be arriving in a couple of weeks!

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, remember we're all in this together, be kind to one another, give love and support to all those who are on the front lines in any capacity, and let's be readers out there. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch all y'all on the flip side!

Love, Gini

Another Release Day!

Happy Tuesday and a belated Happy Rosh Hashana to those who celebrate!

I'm starting this new year with a new release -- A Bug's Life, Book Three in the Martian Alliance Chronicles series is alive wherever ebooks are sold! Many thanks to all of you who pre-ordered the next adventure for DeeDee and the rest of the Crew of the Hummingbird. For the rest of you, you can grab your copy today and enjoy!

Also just released last Friday is A Study in Starlets, the next adventure of my Sherlock Holmes -- first introduced in "All the Single Ladies" from the Two Hundred and Twenty-One Baker Streets anthology -- and her new partner, John Watson, as they deal with more Hollywood intrigue and the sleaze that comes along with it. It's available wherever ebooks are sold as well, so don't miss out, get their next adventure now!

And, as a reminder, you're down to the last hours to enter to win the edited galley of Alien in the House. Just scroll down or click this link and get your entries in now, before it's too late!

That's it for today, but as always, more's on the way, including another contest coming soon. So enjoy your weeks and let's be readers out there. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Clean My House

Happy Friday! Hope everyone had wonderful weeks and are looking forward to wonderful weekends, extra long ones for those celebrating Labor Day. But before we head off for that, there's some news, and a new contest, so let's get to it all shall we? We shall!

First up, there's a new book for pre-order in town, and it's the next story featuring my Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, A Study in Starlets. It'll go on sale on September 11th at Amazon and other e-retailers. This story is the next adventure for Sherlock and John, after the events of "All the Single Ladies" in Two Hundred and Twenty-One Baker Streets.

Not an e-reader? Don't despair. A collection of three alternate Holmes novellas will be available on April 12, 2016 and is available for pre-order from Amazon and other retailers, now.

We're also down to the last few days to support the Alien Artifacts and Were- Anthologies Kickstarter. Alien Artifacts will have "Alien Epilogue", which takes place in the Kitty-verse after the events of Universal Alien. And Were- will have my standalone story, "Missy the Were-Pomeranian vs. the Masters of Mediocre Doom". I mean, you can't really pass either one of those up, now, can you? No, you can't. So get in on the Kickstarter now, so you get the anthologies plus a whole lot of other goodies, too! (If we hit the next goal, for example, you'll get not one but two additional free reads from some of the anchor authors -- it's a win-win all the way around!)

And, speaking of pre-orders, don't forget to pre-order the third installment of the Martian Alliance Chronicles, A Bug's Life. You can pre-order from Amazon and Smashwords and, yes, it'll be available on September 15th at B&N and all other e-retailers, too.

If you don't have them yet, get the first two installments now:
The Royal Scam -- Amazon; Barnes and Noble; Smashwords
Three Card Monte -- Amazon; Barnes and Noble; Smashwords

And, of course, we can't mention pre-orders without the reminder that you can pre-order both Alien in Chief (coming December 1st) and Camp Alien (coming in May 2016) right now from any and all retailers, including your favorite physical bookstores. I'll be posting my December book tour information as we confirm stops, so keep your eyes on the Datebook to see if I'm coming to a city near you!

And now it's time for a new contest. Namely one that lets one of you clean off my desk. That's right, it's time to win the edited galley of the award-winning Alien in the House!

This contest is for Hook Me Up! subscribers only. If you're not on yet, get on now, because this is just the first of many contests coming down for the rest of this year. Send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line and you'll be in and able to win, win, win.

Contest will run from today, September 4, 2016 through Wednesday, September 16, 2016. Winner will be announced by September 18th and will have until September 25th to claim their prize. After that time, the Gods of Random will snatch back the prize and demand a new sacrifice, I mean, winner. Contest is open internationally.

That's it for today but, as always, more's on the way. So enjoy the long weekend and let's be pre-ordering and winning readers out there. Peace out my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Combo-Con Pack 3 - Sword and Sorcery

HOOK ME UP! EXCLUSIVE CONTEST

I went to World Fantasy Con and all I came home with were tons of books. Then I went to TusCon 37 and all I came home with were lots of posters. So I thought to myself, “Self, I think it’s time to do another giveaway. After all, the Swag Hounds expect.”

So, here it is, the Combo-Con Contest, in honor of the release of “Alien Tango” (‘cause, you know, I don’t have nearly enough going on RIGHT NOW).

Combo-Con Pack 3 -- Sword and Sorcery

Again, loaded with posters, from “Resident Evil” to “Sherlock Holmes” to “Tangled” (13 posters in all!) and also containing a full set of “Twilight: Eclipse” posters, this pack is loaded with 4 sword and sorcery and other fantasy books, including “Warbreaker” by Brandon Sanderson, "Night of Knives" by Ian C. Esslemont, "The Sword-Edged Blonde" by Alex Bledsoe, and "Children No More" by Mark L. Van Name. Also comes with a signed Gini Koch 2011 calendar to call your very own -- which, since it's a poster, will make 14 posters in all. Sure it's less posters than the other packs, but you'll be so swept away on these fantastic journeys that you won't notice.

In order to get those needed extra entry points, answer this question: If you could go anywhere with me, where would we go and what would we do when we were there?

Love,
Gini

(Not on Hook Me Up! yet so you don't know what's going on? Hit Win Stuff and get signed up NOW!)
