Roundups and Winning

Happy Hump Day! Well, I've been promising two things -- recaps of my NYC trip and LepreCon and a Hook Me Up! exclusive contest to give away all the stuff I picked up in NYC and at LepreCon.

The memory is a bit fuzzy, since I've been working nonstop on first getting "Alien Proliferation" edits done and in to DAW, and then working on getting "Alien Diplomacy" finished, but here are the highlights!

Had a great time in NYC and surrounding areas, but the best times were seeing Alien Collective Members in Very Good Standing all through the week, leading up to the big day in Grand Central Terminal, with the book signing at Posman Books, and at dinner later. The food was great, the company was better! Thanks again to everyone who came out -- especially because you did it in the very heavy rain. And, I don't think it's bragging to say that Posman sold out of every copy of my books. Thanks SO much to all of you who made that happen!

I also visited a variety of editors, and got my hands on a variety of books. But more on that later...

LepreCon was a lot of fun and they kept me nice and busy. Got to run the yap a lot, sign books, share the first sketch for the cover of and read excerpts from "Alien Proliferation". (Reminder to those in the room: No sharing those spoilers!)

I also got to hang with the awesome Marsheila Rockwell, as well as be on panels with the hilarious Christopher Baldwin, the ever amazing triple-threat Seanan McGuire, new author Kevin Hearne, the always fun Michael D'Ambrosio, the sweet Janni Lee Simner, the fun and snarky Chris Swanson, as well as many other awesome authors and fan panelists. (I have to stop listing folks...I was on a LOT of panels!) Plus I got to see several Alien Collective Members in Very Good Standing (waves madly) for more than a few minutes, which was great.

Oh, and I picked up posters. Movie posters. Huge ones, large ones, regular sized ones. Lots of them. Tons of them. Cascades of them. But...more on that later...

Well, why wait, right? I've got Poster Packs. They include such gems as "Black Swan", "Your Highness", "Twilight", "Saw", "Legion" (because you can never see that shot of Paul Bettany's abs enough), "Limitless", "Priest", "Green Hornet" and more, so very many more. And books? We have books, too.

So, what's a girl to do? Why, give them all away, of course! There are going to be a variety of poster packs up for grabs, many of which will include books. So, watch this space for the official contest start (coming before the end of this week...because Phoenix Comicon is just around the corner, and you KNOW I'm coming home with swag from that). Until then, get your trash talking skills out of mothballs, because we're back, baby, better than ever!

Oh, unless you're not on Hook Me Up! yet. Then, there's nothing to see here. But, you can rectify that situation. Just send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line and you'll be in. But do it fast, because the winning waits for no one!

Love,
Gini

Weekend Roundup

Happy Friday! Having a great time in and around New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia -- wish you were here! (Waves madly to Rich, Stacey, Michele, Marnie, Katie, & Gerrie, who all know why.) No, really, I do. But before I tell you what my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, ergo, the latest reason why I wish you were all here, let's get to what else is going on.

First off, we have some great new reviews. Head over to The Book Pushers and check out their joint review of "Alien in the Family". Then hit For the Love of Books and check out a new review of "Touched by an Alien".

Now, for the smackdowns. There are two going on, and I need your votes for both! Head over to Bitten By Books and vote to defend "Alien Tango" against the competition. Then hit I Smell Sheep and vote for me in their Boogity Boo Awards, which will ultimately give a sheep to a needy family. (Trust me, I am really eating others' dust in this one, and need the votes.)

Amber Scott questions a current hit song...and its inspiration. Was it a certain series featuring some really amazing aliens? Inquiring minds want to know... In fact, The Book Addict seems sure. Check out what she has to say on this rockin' topic!

Check out some cool new releases over at Absorbed in a Book. Then check out the preliminary cover sketch for "Alien Proliferation".

Wait. That's right. You can't. Unless you happen to be coming to my book signing on Saturday, April 16th. I'll have it with me and the ONLY way you'll ever see it is if I'm physically showing it to you. (We don't share Dan's prelims anywhere.) (Unless I happen to be at DAW Books and wheedle a copy out of them.) (Which I was and did.)

So, want to get that sneak peek along with the chance to hang out with moi and other cool members of the Alien Collective? Then head to Grand Central Station on Saturday!

Family Fun

Happy Monday!

I know, I know, I said we'd be on radio silence, and we mostly are, but, as my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, there's some cool stuff out there, and I couldn't wait to share.

Head over to That Bookish Girl and check out her review of "Alien in the Family". Then hit The Book Addict for her take on "Alien in the Family". THEN head over to Seeing Night for yet one more "Alien in the Family" review.

Next, hit Ex Libris to see what she's reading. Last, but not least, "Alien in the Family" cover art is being featured at Comic Art Fans.

Reminder for those in the Greater New York City Area: Book signing and general get-together-ness happening on Saturday, April 16th.

Phone: 212.983.1111
Fax: 212.983.1849

Be there or be a blocky object and subject to mass derision and crushing disappointment.

More info on the event will be coming. If you're in the area, planning to attend, and haven't shared this intent with me yet, please drop me an email or send a tweet so I can be sure to keep you in the Before and After the Signing Loop!

More later, if at all possible. If not, well, there's always that copy of "Alien in the Family" to be gotten and read, right? Of course right!

Love,
Gini

Heading to the Great White Way

Happy Weekend! Well, it's no secret, I head out tomorrow for the east coast. Meaning we'll be on radio silence except for the occasional post. And, of course, Twitter.

If you're in the NY/NJ/PA area, please let me know, and don't miss my signing and get together!

Saturday, April 16th
4:30-6:00PM
Posman Books
Grand Central Terminal
9 Grand Central Terminal
New York, NY 10017
Phone: 212.983.1111

We're still trying to set up a before and after get together, so if you're local or going to be local for that day, stay tuned!

Otherwise, the website has received its latest makeup change -- check it out! Lots of updates all over the place, too.

Last but not least, there's a competition going over at Bitten By Books and "Alien Tango" is in the running. But it needs champions! Only one of the Alien Collective has thrown into the ring to support it. More are needed if "Alien Tango" is to have a hope of making it to the next round, let alone win it all. You up for it? Don't let Kitty, Martini, Alpha and Airborne Teams, and, especially, Alliflash and Gigantagator down!

Looking very forward to seeing some of you next week and will miss the rest of you while I'm gone! So, until I'm back home in Sunny Arizona, have great days, enjoy "Alien in the Family", and get down with your bad selves. Peace out, li'l gangstas!

Love,
Gini

The Yap Branches Out

Happy Monday! Hope the weekend was good to all, and that you're all ready to rock 'n' roll, because, as my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, we have some fun stuff lined up for you today.

First up, head over to A Buckeye Girl Reads to read an exclusive interview with Kitty and Chuckie, as well as get entered to win copies of "Touched by an Alien" and "Alien Tango".

Then, hit Pearls Cast Before a McPig for another early review of "Alien in the Family".

It's also time to announce the winners of a copy of Heather Massey's "Once Upon a Time in Space"! Heather was kind enough to give away two copies, the Gods of Random have made their selections, so our two lucky winners are:

JC Jones and Ruth A! Congrats to both of you!

Winners, you have until Saturday, April 2, to send me an email with your email addresses and the eformat Heather should use to send your copies of "Once Upon a Time in Space". If I don't hear from you by this Saturday, new winner/s will be drawn.

(And for those who entered but didn't win, well, trot off and buy Heather's book, and console yourselves with this thought: there's always another contest right around the corner.)

Attention Fans on the East Coast: Reminder that I'll be in PA/NJ/NY from April 9 through 21. I have a book signing/appearance set up at Posman Books, Grand Central Terminal location, on Saturday, April 16th, from 4:30-6:00pm. We'll be meeting up somewhere in the nearby area beforehand, and going somewhere in the nearby area afterwards (both somewheres still to be determined, but that info will be coming soon), so hope to see all of you sometime in that afternoon. More event updates will be announced as things solidify.

Is there more coming? Of course. But that's it for today, other than the reminder to do your girl a solid and pre-order "Alien in the Family" and/or "Alien Proliferation" right now if you haven't already.

Love,
Gini
