Sensational Wishes

Hey there! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that Monday wasn't too hard on anyone. It's Thanksgiving week in the U.S. and we host lots of family and friends at the Casa, plus you know, I'm on deadline, so this is probably going to be the only word from me this week. BUT, there's still much going on, so let's make sure you don't miss any of it, shall we? We shall!

First up, Sensational Six: Action and Adventure in Sci Fi, Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance is still burning up the charts! Many thanks to all who've grabbed it up already. But for those of you who haven't, seriously, what are you waiting for? It's got 6 great stories of various lengths, from Six Gals and a Guy -- awesome authors Caris Roane, Jordan Summers, Vivi Anna, Sasha White, Marsheila Rockwell and Jeff Mariotte, and moi. And it's a great gift -- for yourself or any other readers on your list. And what a great way to say "thank you" to someone by giving them a great boxed set without breaking your wallet to do it. In fact, eReader News Today made Sensational Six its Book of the Day!

My entry in the set is The Night Beat, Necropolis Enforcement Files #1, and right now this boxed set is the only place you can get it. And that's not all. Sensational Six is also the only place where you can get a long excerpt for Night Music, Necropolis Enforcement #2...until it releases in early 2015! Want to see Night Music's cool cover even larger sized? Hit my Premieres page and check it out!
And how much does all this awesomeness cost you? $0.99. YES! Less than one dollar! So, really, do your Six Gals and a Guy a solid and grab this while it's at this low, low price, because it won't be this low forever, and the set won't be around forever, either.

Get your copies of Sensational Six right here!

Speaking of excerpts, head over to my Deathless Prose page and check out the prologue and first chapter of Universal Alien! Then see what Feeling Fictional thought of Universal Alien. And after that, check out who won the prize at Bibliognome.

What prize, you ask? Why, that blog's stop on the Universal Alien Top 10 Blog Tour. There are more tour stops coming next week, and many of the prior stops still have their contests going. You can win your choice of one of the first 9 books in the Alien series, and you can win at multiple stops, all open internationally, so don't delay, get your entries in today!

Have you gotten your November issue of Penumbra eMagazine yet? If not, why not? You're missing out on "Alien Pick-Up", and you know you don't want to do that! Also, if you've missed the May issue, featuring "Alien on the Runway", and/or the July issue, featuring "Mr. Dash Saves the World", you want to get those, too. And you can, easily, because Penumbra has all their back issues for sale, too.

Tour the Universe

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great week and a wonderful weekend. I had a fantastic time in Los Angeles for the A Darke Phantastique mass signing. Check out the recap from author E.E. King for deets.

I got to celebrate a fun, fast in-and-out trip to SoCal by being back home to see the Cardinals beat the Rams (yes, I'm a football fan, but, seeing as I'm a Cardinals fan, I tend to fly under the radar...but this year, wowza!) live and in person. But there's lots going on, and lots to come in the next few weeks, so let's get to it all, shall we? We shall!

First up, the Universal Alien Top 10 Blog Tour begins today! Head on over to Pearls Cast Before a McPig to see what Jeff & Kitty's Top 10 Vacation Spots are AND get entered to win one of the first 9 books, signed and personalized! Contest open through Nov. 28th.

The rest of the stops are:
11-11 Larissa's Bookish Life
11-11 Feeling Fictional
11-12 Gizmo's Reviews
11-13 A Buckeye Girl Reads
11-13 Bibliognome
11-14 boeklogboek
11-17 Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell
11-18 I Smell Sheep
11-19 Lu's Buchgefluster
11-20 Under the Covers
12-01 Books-n-Kisses
12-02 Smart Girls Love Sci Fi

Every stop has either a new Top 10 List or an interview, and every stop has prizes to be won, so make sure you hit 'em all! And remember to do your girl a solid and pre-order Universal Alien online or from your favorite bookstore, including any bookstore where I'm making a Book Tour stop.

And don't stop there! See what Pearls Cast Before a McPig thought of Universal Alien. Then, check out Bibliognome's Pre Review Ravings and Favorite Quotes/Lines are from Universal Alien.

Next up, see what Books-N-Kisses thought of Alien Research, and what Feeling Fictional thought of Unidentified Funny Objects 3.

Then see which Top 5 Characters Larissa's Bookish Life would like to hang out with!

See any movies last weekend? If you missed Big Hero 6, check out my review at Slice of SciFi to see if you should see it or not. (Spoiler: you should see it.) Agree? Disagree? Join the discussion over at Slice!

Amazingly enough, that's it for today, but based on the fact that the Top 10 Blog Tour is large and in charge, expect to hear from me a lot in the upcoming days. So get ready to start the latest rounds of winning, and let's be readers out there!

Yapping All Over the World

Happy Hump Day! I hope we all raced out and bought Alien Collective yesterday -- I mean those of us who did not pre-order and therefore just sashayed into a bookstore or turned on their ereader and got the book. (Hint: It's never too early to pre-order. For example, you could pre-order Universal Alien right now and be all set for December. Just sayin'.)

But there's more going on than my pre-order public service announcement, yes there is! First up, the next stop on the Alien Collective Blog Tour is live over at boeklogboek. As with the other stops, you can enter to win your choice of any one of the first 8 books in the series (Touched through Research).

There's a special prize available, at this stop as well as at Bibliognome (contest ends May 15); Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell (contest ends May 18); Gizmo's Reviews; and  A Buckeye Girl Reads (contest ends May 12) but it's for my Hook Me Up! Subscribers only. Not on? Perhaps now's the time to rectify that mistake. Send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line and you'll be in and sent the special instructions!

After entering to win, head over to see what Feeling Fictional thought of Alien Collective.

Next up, it's more interactiveness from moi! Head over to Weird Romantics and check out my podcast with them where you can hear the dulcet tones of my yap. And More Geek Than Gay has their latest video podcast up now, where you can see the me as well as hear the me.

Oh look, it's the reminders section (because not everyone remembers and no one should miss out):

Get the May issue of Penumbra eMagazine so you, too, can read the first Alien Series short available, "Alien on the Runway". The other stories in this issue are da bomb, as well. And, if you want to keep up and get the rest of the Alien series shorts I'll have in Penumbra later this year, get a subscription! If you use 2014Gini when you order, you'll get the subscription for half price AND get the Best Of issues for 2012 and 2013, too! Offer ends August 1, and the May issue is available right now, so don't wait, get your deal, and your monthly great reading, going today!

Also, the bidding is going strong at the Brenda Novak auction. Check out my fantastic Alien Pack -- and bid early and often!

SoCal, as in San Diego and the South Bay Area, I will be in you! Make your plans to see the me, and get your signed copies of Alien Collective and all the other bookie wookies, at Mysterious Galaxy San Diego, on Saturday, May 10, from 10am-5pm, I'll be speaking and signing from 1-2pm, but will be around all day; and/or see the me at Mysterious Galaxy Redondo Beach, from 7:30-8:30pm on Monday, May 12. A good time shall be had by all at each location, so don't miss out!

That's it for today, but, as always, more's on the way. Seriously, more, more, more. So, how do you like it, my li'l gangstas? Peace out and let's be winning readers of Alien Collective out there!

Love,
Gini

Anticipating a House Call

Happy Monday!

Well, Alien in the House releases tomorrow and I'm all a'flutter. Well, okay, I'm really working on finishing Alien Research (al...most...there...) and getting ready for my book signing at The Poisoned Pen  in Scottsdale, AZ on Wednesday, May 8th at 7pm, and then for the Mysterious Galaxy 20th Birthday Bash in San Diego, CA on Saturday, May 11th, all day. But in between that? Fluttering.

So let's flutter together, shall we? Speaking of The Poisoned Pen and Mysterious Galaxy, guess who made it onto CNN's Best Brick and Mortar Indie Bookstores list? That's right! Mega congrats to two great bookstores who love books, readers, and authors!

Now, let's check out some reviews. See what A Buckeye Girl Reads, Feeling Fictional, and Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell all thought of Alien in the House. Then see what KD Did It Takes on Books thought of Alien vs. Alien.

Next, head over to Larissa's Bookish Life and see which series she feels has the best villains. Then, speaking of the Mysterious Galaxy Bday Bash, check out some interesting musings from one of the other awesome authors that will be there, Jeff Mariotte. And finish up over at The Galaxy Express to check out all the May SFR releases, and at DAW Books Review to check out all of DAW's May releases!

Remember that I'll be at Phoenix Comicon over Memorial Day Weekend, and it's packed with things to do. I'm in the Exhibit Hall, Booth 2512, I'm on tons of panels every day from Thursday, May 23rd through Sunday, May 26th, and I've even got an Author Spotlight on Sunday, May 26th, from 3-4pm, so definitely make your plans to be there!

And right after Phoenix Comicon is Arizona Dreamin'. There are only two tickets left to this 20-author event, so if you're thinking of attending -- and really, what's to think about? It's gonna be awesome! -- act fast!

That's it for today, but more's on the way. So get ready to get Alien in the House into YOUR house TOMORROW! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Release Day!

Happy Alien vs. Alien Release Day! Yes, it's true, the day is finally here! Alien vs. Alien is on the shelves and e-readers everywhere! Reminder that the big Release Day Party is happening at The Poisoned Pen later tonight, and that you can also watch it all live via LiveStream.

I wasn't going to send a newsletter today, but gosh darn it, there are so many reviews and contests that I just can't keep it all from you for another day. So, on with the countdown!

First off, hit the Alien Collective Virtual HQ and get entered to win a copy of Alien vs. Alien. Then, head over to Larissa's Bookish Life, find out what she thought of Alien vs. Alien, and get entered to win an ARC of said bookie wookie.

Then, head over to A Buckeye Girl Reads for Alien vs. Alien Haiku (hey, do NOT knock it 'til you try it). Afterwards, see what Under the Covers and Feeling Fictional think of the latest in Kitty & Company's exploits.

The Goodreads Choice Awards are done and...Alien Proliferation lost to Terry Pratchett. And you know what? I'm pretty darned good with losing to my favorite living author, while having had the chance to be in the running against said favorite living author. Thanks to all of you who voted, and congrats to Sir Pterry!

Speaking of authors I like, Jim C. Hines is running a fundraiser for a very good cause -- to find a cure for and help the families of victims of Aicardi Syndrome. This disease attacks girls and puts their life expectancy between 8 and 16 years. Kitty and I both, being the mothers of girls, feel that this horrible disease needs to be battled. Jim's doing his part by imitating cover poses (you have to read his blog post to get it, but trust me, the outcome is hilarious), so please donate and participate if you're able.

Well, that's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. Now I have to go do another happy dance and choose what to wear tonight -- other than the pink, sparkly cowgirl hat which will, of course, be on my head. So, have yourselves a great day, I'll see some of you tonight, and all of you enjoy the reading out there!

Love,
Gini

Yappers and Other Lovers

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and all the moms and those who fill mom-type roles had a wonderful Mother's Day. I got roses from the hubs, and the hubs and chicklet gave me iTunes gift cards (which the Canine Death Squad and Killer Kitties insist were also from them), which is awesome because, as you all know, I need music to write and I have a lot of writing going on, so I need a lot of new music. Whoo hoo! Also went to a fab dinner and saw The Avengers again (and it was JUST as awesome the second time around). So my day was great.

But that's all in the past! Let's get to the right now. First up, as my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, the yap is large and in charge over at Book Lovers Inc.,plus you could win a copy of Alexander Outland: Space Pirate by G.J. Koch (yes, that's moi), so get over and get entered to win! While you're there, check out Book Lovers Inc.'s Pre-Summer Winner Post as well.

Now it's time for reviews, and there are a lot today. See what Books-n-Kisses thought of Alexander Outland: Space Pirate. Then see what Feeling Fictional, Bob's Beach Books, and The Reading Addict have to say about Alien Diplomacy. Then check out what Single Titles had to say about The Disciple by Jemma Chase (yes, also Moi).

Last but not least, check out what Larissa's Bookish Life has chosen as her Favorite Book Quotes.

I'm getting additional panels added on for Phoenix Comicon so keep your eye on my, and everyone else's, schedule so you don't miss out.

CONFIRMED: The bookstore for Phoenix Comicon, The Poisoned Pen, will have EARLY RELEASE copies of Alexander Outland: Space Pirate available at the con. So, definitely don't miss out -- get your copy early AND get it signed by the me!

That's it for today, but never fear, more's always on the way. Until then, peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Yapday

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a stellar weekend. Mine was, as per usual, busy as all get-out. And this week doesn't look to be slowing things down at all. So, let's get to it!

First off, as the title indicates, the yap is running large and in charge again. Check out my latest convo with Agent Z at The Galaxy Express.

Then, see what Feeling Fictional thought of "Alien Tango".

Have you entered the Alien Proliferation ARC Giveaway contest yet? If you haven't, get it done now -- the contest ends this Thursday, 10-13. Of course, it's for Hook Me Up! only, so if you're not on, send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line and we'll send you the instructions for how to get your chances to win.

Also, to increase those winning chances, the Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger blog contest is still in effect, which includes an ARC of "Alien Proliferation" in the grand prize. Check it out over at Win Stuff and tag in as Team Blah. This contest ends Friday, 10-21.

And, last but not least on the winning update, the Daddy Crazies contest ends tonight at midnight over at the Alien Collective Virtual HQ. If you haven't entered, do it NOW!

There's more coming, but that's probably good for today. Go forth, make your winning chances better, and I'll catch you later, alligators! (Yeah, I miss Gigantagator and Alliflash, too. They're trying to make a cameo in "Alien vs. Alien", so stay tuned.)

Love,
Gini

Tuesday Roundup

Hope everyone's weekend and dreaded Monday were great. Mine was busy -- writing, editing, more writing. So you know I loved it! But business is afoot, so let's get caught up.

First up, a head's up. I got a lovely box o' swag from my awesome agent. What will I be doing with it? Giving it away, of course! Another Combo-Con contest is in the making, as always for Hook Me Up! only. Not on Hook Me Up! yet? Rectify by sending an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line. Do it now, because details about the next contest will be coming in the next few weeks. Will this contest include swag from at least 3 cons? It will! Will it, if my deadlines overcome me and it launches more than a couple weeks away, also include books from World Fantasy Con? You even have to ask?

Then check out what Bibliognome and My 5 Monkeys had in their recent mail. Yes, they were both winners in my Comic-Con 2011 contest. Yes, the Combo-Con contest will also be loaded with cool goodies. I know, I know, I'm a giver, me.

Next on the hit parade, check out what Reading the Paranormal and Feeling Fictional had to say about "Touched by an Alien".

Penumbra Magazine's first issue is on pre-order now. I, of course, suggest getting it. But I suggest getting Penumbra Issue 2 even more. Why? A story by one of my (many) pen names is in it -- "Field Trip", by J.C. Koch. J.C. writes horror, so pre-order the mag and get a taste of the creepy.

Speaking of pre-orders, don't forget to pre-order "Alien Proliferation" and "Alien Diplomacy" anywhere books are sold. While you're at it, head over to Musa Publishing and pre-order "The Royal Scam". (Hey, trust me, the pre-orders matter.)

Next on the In-Person docket:
Foxy Dahlings Book Club - Wed., Sept. 21, Gilbert, AZ
Mysterious Galaxy Books - Wed., Oct. 26, San Diego, CA
World Fantasy Con - Thurs., Oct 27-Sun., Oct. 30, San Diego, CA
TusCon 38 - Fri., Nov. 11-Sun., Nov. 13, Tucson, AZ
Fall Writer's Workshop - Sat., Nov. 19, Scottsdale, AZ
Mysterious Galaxy Books Holiday Party - Sat., Dec. 10, San Diego, CA

That's it for today, but more's to come on the horizon. So have yourselves a wonderful week, and let's be readers out there!

Love,
Gini
