But before then there's lots going on, so let's get to some of it! Head over to Books-n-Kisses to check out the Top 10 Ways to Tell if Your Parents Are Actually Leading Secret Lives. Anticipating a House Call

Happy Monday!

Well, Alien in the House releases tomorrow and I'm all a'flutter. Well, okay, I'm really working on finishing Alien Research (al...most...there...) and getting ready for my book signing at The Poisoned Pen  in Scottsdale, AZ on Wednesday, May 8th at 7pm, and then for the Mysterious Galaxy 20th Birthday Bash in San Diego, CA on Saturday, May 11th, all day. But in between that? Fluttering.

So let's flutter together, shall we? Speaking of The Poisoned Pen and Mysterious Galaxy, guess who made it onto CNN's Best Brick and Mortar Indie Bookstores list? That's right! Mega congrats to two great bookstores who love books, readers, and authors!

Now, let's check out some reviews. See what A Buckeye Girl Reads, Feeling Fictional, and Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell all thought of Alien in the House. Then see what KD Did It Takes on Books thought of Alien vs. Alien.

Next, head over to Larissa's Bookish Life and see which series she feels has the best villains. Then, speaking of the Mysterious Galaxy Bday Bash, check out some interesting musings from one of the other awesome authors that will be there, Jeff Mariotte. And finish up over at The Galaxy Express to check out all the May SFR releases, and at DAW Books Review to check out all of DAW's May releases!

Remember that I'll be at Phoenix Comicon over Memorial Day Weekend, and it's packed with things to do. I'm in the Exhibit Hall, Booth 2512, I'm on tons of panels every day from Thursday, May 23rd through Sunday, May 26th, and I've even got an Author Spotlight on Sunday, May 26th, from 3-4pm, so definitely make your plans to be there!

And right after Phoenix Comicon is Arizona Dreamin'. There are only two tickets left to this 20-author event, so if you're thinking of attending -- and really, what's to think about? It's gonna be awesome! -- act fast!

That's it for today, but more's on the way. So get ready to get Alien in the House into YOUR house TOMORROW! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Weekend With Character

Happy Friday! I'm still writing madly on Alien Research, but there's a lot going on, so I just had to take a moment to tell you all about it. That's right, 'cause I'm a giver, me.

Speaking of giving, head over to Ex Libris where there's a brand new interview with Kitty and Company where they discuss the series' mosts and bests, so far, along with a chance to win Alien Tango. (Why? One word: 'Gators.) You'll even discover the song Martini thinks best describes his life. You all will, undoubtedly, be able to guess Kitty's song without trying hard. Ex Libris is having a big blogoversary bash, and there's lots of other awesome stuff to win while you're over there, so don't miss out and enter to win everything!

Next, check out what KD Did It Takes on Books thought of Alien in the Family. Then see what A Buckeye Girl Reads thought of A Cup of Joe by Anita Ensal (yes, that's moi). Finish up with a stop over at Barren Island Books where author Paige Daniels (NOT moi) shares which books, and other things, she'd want with her on the proverbial desert island.

Last, but not least, The Brainpan is pimping my speaking skills. If you would like moi to come out and run the yap wherever you may be, check this out.

In Person Reminders:

Last Days of Winning Disco

Happy Friday! Well, the weekend is upon us, but before we get to go relax, party, and run a zillion errands, let's do a short and sweet catch up on some things going on all over.

First up, check out a love letter from Martini to Kitty, as envisioned by Julie from My 5 Monkeys over at Vampire Book Club. So cute!

Remember that the Erin Kellison Spotlight interview along with a book giveaway is live right here at the Blah, Blah, Blah Blog (click the link or just scroll down). If you haven't read Erin yet, get entered to win and find a new author. If you have, get entered to win a book of hers you might not have yet. It's a win-win all the way and open to anyone, international included!

Speaking of winning, we're in the last days of the Tidy My Office contest. But, as most of my contests are, this is for Hook Me Up! subscribers only. Not on? Send an email with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line to gini@ginikoch.com and you'll be added on and get the rules sent right out to you so you can get in on the win!

Speaking of fun, you know I've been talking about Arizona Dreamin'. Well, someone else is talking about it today over at StephsBookRetreat. My half-price tickets are gone, but even at full price of $79 for the weekend, this is a great deal. You'll get to hang with moi, our Spotlight author Erin Kellison, Erin Quinn, Amber Scott, Caris Roane, and 15 other amazing authors. Lots of access, lots of fun, so make your plans to join us now!

For those wanting to see the me before May and June, you're in luck, because Tucson Festival of Books is next weekend (how did it get here so quickly?). Come to the 4th largest book fair in the country and see me, a lot of those Arizona Dreamin' authors, and a ton of other cool and famous authors for a weekend at a book lover's Disneyland.

Well, that's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. So everyone have a wonderful weekend, and let's be readers out there! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Pinning Moi Down

Happy Hump Day! This is coming out a little late because, well, there's so much going on it took me a while to gather it all. (Yes, that's my story -- versus "I was up late and got up late and am just running late, late, late" -- I think "so much going on" sounds way better, don't all y'all?) So, let's roll! (Yes, I know, I sound so gangsta when I say that. ;-D)

First up, head over to RT Book Reviews where they've totally done me the honor of including me in their Recommended Science Fiction Romance list! I'm there with some other awesome authors, so check it out and grab some reads you may have missed!

Romancing the Genres has a nice listing of some cons worth attending, including Arizona Dreamin'. I still have one half price ticket available for this year's AZD con, so if you want it, let me know ASAP. It's a great opportunity to hang out with moi and 19 other awesome authors, including Erin Quinn, Erin Kellison, and Caris Roane.

Speaking of Erin Kellison, tune in tomorrow, because she's our featured Spotlight guest. And yes, in addition to learning fun things about her, you'll also have a chance to win one of her excellent books.

Next up, see who Larissa's Bookish Life chose as her Favorite Female Book Characters. Then see what books My 5 Monkeys can't wait for. Then hit Gizmo's Reviews and see who her Top 10 Auto-Buy Authors are.

My awesome assistant Colette (aka She Who is Saving What's Left of My Sanity) has dragged me kicking and whining (but not screaming, so there's that) onto Pinterest. So, check out my Pinterest boards, pin away, and follow me so I can follow you back! In addition to series pins, I have a board for pins from the Alien Collective, recipes and food ideas from the Alien Collective, and pins so you can See The Characters (which I promise to fill in as much as I can :-D) as I do in my mind, or at least, close to.

Remember that this is the last week of the Tidy My Office contest, and the marked up galley for Alexander Outland: Space Pirate by moi writing as G.J. Koch is up for grabs. But it's for Hook Me Up! subscribers only. Not on? Now's really the time to get on. Send an email with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line to gini@ginikoch.com, and you'll be in and get the rules for entry sent right to you.

Speaking of which, it's time to announce the winner of the marked up galley for Alien vs. Alien. So, without further ado, here's who the Gods of Random liked this week:

Kathryn Willadsen

Note to our winner: You have until Sunday, March 3rd to check in by sending me an email with your name (first and last) and your full mailing address. If I don't hear from you, the Gods of Random will demand a sacrifice and a new winner will be chosen.

That's it for today, but more's on the way. Enjoy the downward slide to the weekend, and let's be readers out there! See you tomorrow for a stellar Spotlight, and peace out, my li'l gangstas!

Love,
Gini

Name Yapping

Happy Hump Day! It's Week 6 of the Tidy My Office contest, and yes, I still can't believe how fast the weeks have flown. Less than two weeks of galley winning to go, so make them count and get your entries in! After all, there's only one marked up galley of Alien vs. Alien, and there's only one way to win it!

Ah, but it's for Hook Me Up! only. So if you're not on that exclusive list yet, now's the time. Send an email with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line to gini@ginikoch.com and you'll be in the club and get the rules sent to you.

Speaking of which, we'll be announcing the winner of the marked up galley for Alien Diplomacy in just a little bit so, if you entered, keep your eyeballs peeled.

But there's more going on than just winning, so let's check the rest of it out, shall we? We shall! First off, head over to Yummy Men & Kick Ass Chicks where moi, Jennifer Estep, Gena Showalter, Jenn Bennett, and Cecy Robson are all discussing our characters' names and how we came up with them. Yes indeed, it's another chance to learn more about my so-called "process", so don't miss it!

Slicing Up the Public Appearances

Happy Hump Day! The winner of the marked up Alien in the Family galley has been chosen, and we'll get to that in a bit. But first, live(ish) from the Slice of SciFi studio, it's time for Geek Nation Tours: 2013, featuring moi as a guest commentator. Check it out, and leave comments on the Slice website and/or call in (206-339-8735) -- the Slice gang love both! (Calls or comments mentioning how much you love that new girl guest commentator especially appreciated. ;-D)

But wait, there's more! Just in, yet another webcast over at Slice, this one featuring a lot of  moi yapping about Comic Book Biz Bashing. Check it out and add your thoughts or call them in!

Speaking of Slice of SciFi, my February column is up at It's Comic Book Day!, so check it out and, again, leave comments if you're so in the mood.

Here, There, and Everywhere

Happy Hump Day! Hope everyone's weeks are going nicely and that everyone's healthy. I say that because pretty much everyone I know is sick (other than moi, and I'm trying hard to hold the illness hordes at bay). Sick is never fun, so sending get well thoughts out to any who are under the weather, and stay healthy thoughts to everyone else!

There's much going on, of course, so let's get to it! First off, awesome DAW author Patrick Rothfuss is doing a huge fundraiser with some seriously huge prizes, including a prize of a copy of every book published by DAW Books in 2012. That's BIG, gang, and the cause is a great one (Heifer International), so if you're able, give a little and get entered to win a lot.

Next up, see what Larissa's Bookish Life thinks are the top 5 covers coming in 2013 so far. Then head over to see what Medusa's Library has started the year off reading, and rereading, and The Writer Librarian is showing off Alien in the House.

Now, let's check out some of the places where you can see the me, and many other awesome authors, in the upcoming months! First off, I'll be in Eureka Springs, Arkansas later this month for the Other Worlds Fantasy Fest, January 25th through 27th. This is likely the only time I'm going to be in this part of the country this year, so if you can make it, this is the con to make it for.

I'll also be at the Tucson Festival of Books, March 9th & 10th. The TFoB is the 4th largest book fair in the country. And I won't be alone. Check out the listing of authors confirmed to attend, and then see the list broken out by genre and activity. Make your plans to attend, it's gonna be huge.

Speaking of huge, I'll also be at Phoenix Comicon over Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26. This is a great con because it's big enough to attract huge media guests (cast of Babylon 5, anyone?) and small enough that you can meet and interact with those guests. If you can only hit one this year, this is the one.

But if you want a more intimate experience that's more reader focused than anything else, hit Arizona Dreamin', May 31st through June 2nd. And, for the opposite of intimate but the granddaddy of cool, of course I plan to be at San Diego Comic-Con from July 18th through July 21st.

Speaking of huge...if you can only go to one con in 2014, make sure that it's DarkCon 2014, January 16th through 19th, where at I will be the Local Author Guest of Honor AND we will be having GiniCon on the last day of the con on the 19th, with extra activities all the way through for all Members of the Alien Collective in Very Good Standing. This is a full See The Me situation where you'll get access like never before and lots of it, PLUS there will be other awesome authors and media guests in attendance as well. Seriously, start saving up and getting the time off work now, because it's gonna be huge.

If you didn't catch my inaugural review column over at Slice of SciFi and It's Comic Book Day now's the time. Feel free to leave comments at the sites if you enjoy my reviews of all things nerd -- it makes the folks at Slice of SciFi feel warm and fuzzy, and we all like to feel warm and fuzzy, don't we?

Last but not least, the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll is still going on, and Alien Diplomacy and I both still need your votes. So do your girl a solid and cast your votes, please and thank you. And while we're on the subject of solids, remember to pre-order Alien in the House, please and thank you again. Yes, those pre-orders matter, matter, matter, and I love you all for doing so!

Well, that's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. So enjoy the downward slide to the weekend, and let's be readers out there! Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Frenzy On and On

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. Mine was incredibly busy, because Phoenix Comicon was da BOMB! And a full recap is coming later this week. However, we have an important announcement first.

Because I was so busy at the con, I didn't score as much swag as normal. But what I did score the most of was...wait for it...wait for iiiitttt...more posters. (Including...Green "Ryan Reynolds is so hot" Lantern" and The "Johnny Depp AND Angelina Jolie" Tourist posters.) SO, I'm extending the Poster Frenzy Contest! There will be even MORE in each pack, and I might even add a non-poster pack (that will, of course, include some books). Contest will extend through next week, ending on Wednesday, June 8th. Of course, it's still for Hook Me Up! subscribers only. So, if you're not on, now's the time to get on! Send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line, so you can get your win on!

We also have some great new reviews. Check out what the Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell and For the Love of Books have to say about "Alien Tango". Then head over to see what Bring on the Books thinks of "Alien in the Family".

I'll be at Desert Rose RWA tonight with my awesome agent, sharing How to Have a Good Author/Agent Relationship. The meeting starts at 5pm, so if you're nearby, come on down!

Remember that I'll be at Arizona Dreamin' this coming Saturday, June 4th, and it's not too late for you to register. 24 authors, 1 hot cover model, lots of readers. It's gonna be a blast, so don't miss out!

If you're on Twitter, mark Friday, June 10th on your calendar now. I'll be the author guest at #SciFiChat from 11-1 Mountain Standard/Pacific Daylight time (2-4 Eastern Daylight). We're discussing strong female protagonists in SF/F...so you know I have some views on the subject!

That's it for today, but never fear, more's always on the way. So, I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini

Thursday Roundup

Just a short and sweet one today, 'cause I have to get ready to head off for the Tucson Festival of Books. Remember to find me if you're gonna be there! (Details are in the blog post below this one.)

As my Hook Me Up! subscribers already know, there's some new stuff up on the Sightings in the Wild page. Have a pic of any of the books or your swag? Send it to me so it can go up for all to see! Reminder that, for those of you who missed the earlier memo, the first chapter of "Alien in the Family" is up on Deathless Prose. Accolades has been updated -- if you've done a review of any of the books and you don't see it linked here, please let me know and send me the url so we can rectify!

Because pre-orders really do matter, have to share that "Alien Proliferation" is available for such now. Several places have it up, including Amazon. No cover yet, but the moment I have it, you KNOW you'll see it!

Want to hang out with me, and some other cool authors? Want to do it in a relaxed atmosphere that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Have limited time to get away? Check out Arizona Dreamin', and get your reservations in today ('cause it's filling up and we honestly have limited space).

And now, to pack. Well, to consider packing, and then do other things, consider it again, do more other things, and then to panic and pack at 1am. You know, like every other time I travel. What? It's a time-honored tradition! And you wouldn't want me to buck tradition, would you?

Love,
Gini
