Come out and see the Gini!

Calling all Cali members (and those always up for a roadtrip) of the Alien Collective! The time to meet and mingle with Gini is upon us.

Update To Begin All The Updates...

Howdy all, Ro here... new member from the land of Team Gini.

My mission (which I accepted prior to getting the "to do" list) is to try and catch up the Giniverse news so someone *ahem* can keep her butt-in-seat and focus on all that writing we do so love reading. Have no fear, The Gini is alive and sassy just like we like her.

Zombies Need Brains launches the mother of all campaigns for THREE new sci-fi/fantasy anthologies on August 31st! Each anthology's set to feature 14 new stories from some of our favorite sci-fi/fantasy authors. That's right,  no reprints, no re-releases, all new stories for you to peruse.  

The picture featured to the right is the cover art for Submerged. The artwork for all three campaigns, including this piece, comes courtesy of Justin Adams of Varia Studios.

Gini's contributing stories to two of the anthologies: All Hail Our Robot Conquerors and Submerged. Just to keep everyone on their toes. Team Tuckerization, start your engines, and anyone else who wants to be in a story of hers (the Submerged story will be horror, the Robot story will be an Alien series short) get ready.  Check out the campaign page for further info. Plush Camping with Mechs

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone's been having great weeks and all that since I've been rather silent. (Hey, your only child getting married tends to distract, what can I say?) But I'm back and there's so much news I'm honestly not sure where to start. But start we shall!

First up, I got some lovely press from New Times, when they chose me as one of the 10 Metro Phoenix Sci-Fi and Fantasy Authors You Should Know. After reading about me and the 9 others called out, check out Creative Play and Podcast's video giving you some highlights from this year's Tucson Festival of Books.

Next up, advanced copies are out on Camp Alien, and Publisher's Weekly said lovely things -- including "...the action never pauses in Koch’s fun, energetic series." Check the full review out, and then see what boeklogboek and Larissa's Bookish Life thought of Camp Alien as well.

Remember to do your girl a solid and pre-order Camp Alien from your favorite bookstore or online retailer. And also remember that you can pre-order from any bookstore where I'm making a book tour or stock signing stop and they'll ship the signed bookie wookie right to your door.

Now, let's look at the latest cool Kickstarter anthology I'm in, MECH: Age of Steel. We've been waiting to get this puppy launched for ages, but the time is here! I had a ton of tuckerizations available, but as of right now only one remains. So if you want to become immortalized in my story, "Jaegermeister", then you need to get crackin'! There are tons of other tuckerizations available, as well as cool support levels for all budgets. So don't miss out -- Ragnarok does awesome anthologies. Oh, and while this wasn't drawn for my story, the hardback cover pretty much captures my story. Plus, if we hit a high enough funding level, every story will have awesome illustrations. "Jaegermeister" has a two-page spread, so, again, you WANT in on this one!

Working for the Weekend

Happy Friday!

Hope everyone had a fun, safe, and happy St. Patrick's day if you were indulging in all things Irish, and a great week regardless of celebrations! I'm still recovering from Tucson Festival of Books last weekend, which was great. Got to hang out with great authors, moderate a great panel with other great authors Judith Tarr, Jeffe Kennedy, Yvonne Navarro, and Beth Cato, and visit with tons of great Members of the Alien Collective in Very Good Standing. A fantabulous weekend all the way around!

I also had a dozen advanced copies of Plush Life on hand and do not have them anymore. So, congrats to those who scored the book early!

For the rest of you, the bookie wookie goes on sale everywhere on April 1 (and that's not an April Fools joke, either). And don't panic -- while the physical version up at Amazon says it's out of print, it's not -- it's just not available until April 1. The very important pre-orders are all available right now, however, at Amazon and Smashwords.

And I have a LOT of tuckerization options possible in my story, "Jaegermeister", including characters who are mech pilots and location naming rights. And, unlike most who tuckerize, I tend to not kill my tuckers but instead turn them into supporting characters who stick around for the long haul. And this is a story you want to be in. It's also kind of cool that the cover art looks like it could be taken from my story...just a hint to whet your appetites! So, keep the eyeballs peeled, because the MECH Kickstarter is going to kick off soon!

I know, I know -- two months of literal silence, and now you're hearing from me regularly again. Well, there's just a lot going on right now. Though, trust me, the Cone of Silence is going to descend again soon. But it's not fully covering me yet, so let's get to things, shall we? We shall!

Heading to the movies this weekend? Check out my review of Zootopia over at Slice of SciFi and see if it's right for you. Speaking of Slice, we're branching out and adding a sister site, Pop Culture Geeks. Which means that I and the other reviewers just got to add a whole lot of other movies into our reviewing queues.

After pop culture fun, it's time for some science! The New York Times shares that gravitational waves have been detected that confirm Einstein's theory. Per Earth/Sky there's also good evidence for a ninth planet -- no, not poor Pluto, but one that sounds quite a lot like what H.P. Lovecraft said was out there. And Space.com shares what Kitty and Company already know -- that our universe is just one of many.

Reminder that the Kickstarter for Unidentified Funny Objects 5 is going on right now. As of Day Three of the Kickstarter I have only one tuckerization left, so if you want to be a character in my Steampunk Alien series and get a role in "The Problem With Poofs", head over now. Premiering 2016

Hey there -- I'm not dead!

I know, right? I've been silent for, um, 2 months, and so I'm sure you wondered. But, hey, I warned all y'all that I was going to be less active due to deadlines. The last batch of deadlines are done, the current batch are still conceivably on time, so I'm able to kind of look up and share things.

And there's lots that's been going on TO share, so let's start getting caught up. (No, we won't be all caught up today, but hey, well begun is half done, am I right?)
